The beach-to-street styles to pair with your swimwear.
Beach trip time is almost here! Whether you’re heading down for the day or spending the whole season, you know our biggest focus is always the outfit. And since we want to maximize our time spent in the sand, we need looks that easily transition on and off the beach.
So, if you’re stopping for breakfast pre-beach-day, or maybe you’re hitting no shower happy hour after a day of sun, these are the styles that can take you from beach to street and back, and keep you looking put-together no matter where you go.

The “Is it a Bodysuit or a Swimsuit?”
Honestly, what’s the difference between a one-piece swimsuit and a bodysuit anyway? Yeah, you can wear one in the water, but they’re both sleek, smoothing and tuck effortlessly into any bottoms. Wearing one to the beach? Transition it out of the sun and sand, straight into happy hour by pulling a cute pair of pants or a fun mini skirt on over top. We promise no one will ever know about its double-life splashing through the waves.
The Pre-and-Post-Beach Pant
The key to going to and from the beach with ease: effortless, lightweight layers. A pair of flowy, pull-on pants will be your BFF for post-beach plans.Try an easy linen pair with a drawstring waistband, some fun printed flares that keep things breezy, or even a lightweight pair of jeans. They’ll look great as a coverup to your bikini or one-piece, and they’ll be perfectly in place wherever the rest of the day takes you.
The Bikini Crop Top
This one might be a little more obvious, but why not get some extra use out of your bikini top by wearing it as a crop top? A longer line, cropped swim style or even a rash guard with a tee silhouette makes a perfect pick for a top that’s not really a top, but nobody needs to know that. You could totally do this with a super skimpy style too, but if you’re looking for a style that could pass as a regular top, try a more full-coverage style and pair it with some easy bottoms.
The Over-Everything Dress
The easiest choice for layering? Just throw a dress on over your swimsuit. This way, if you have any stops on your drive to the beach, you can run in with no worries, and when you’re ready to leave, just pop your dress ack on and you’re ready for a dinner date. Pick a style that covers everything or try a dress that gives a little peekaboo to the swimwear layered underneath.
The Top-it-Off Top
A post-beach pullover, an easy tee, an oversized button-up — they all make perfect cover-ups for your swimwear when you’re on the beach, and keep things under wraps as soon as you step onto the shore. Leave your swim peeking out or cover it completely, these tops are perfect for those chilly summer nights. Plus, if your layer is long enough, you can totally skip bottoms.
The Classic Cover-Up
Sometimes, you just have to stick to the classics, especially when they’re this good. Breezy kaftans, so-fun sarongs, crochet cover-ups and flowy kimonos are beachy staples for a reason. They’re perfect to pop on for your walk to the beach, or if you’re hanging out at a beachside bar. And they’re so versatile, you could definitely transition them into your daily wardrobe.
