To put it simply, electrolytes help your body regulate. From fueling hydration and managing energy levels to supporting your nervous system and balancing a wide range of bodily functions, electrolytes give your system some of the essential tools it needs to perform effectively.

To put it a little less simply, electrolytes contain a positive or negative charge and conduct electricity when dissolved in water. Many of your body’s processes rely on small electric currents to function, which require regular charges of energy. Electrolytes provide that charge.

It’s possible to achieve a steady flow of electrolytes with a healthy diet and plenty of water; however, this isn’t always as easy as it sounds.
