If there’s one thing about FP: we love to make a fashion statement in a unique way. From exaggerated silhouettes to billowy, gauzy pieces, we certainly know how to turn heads — and our denim is no exception. So yes, we’ve seen you talking and poking fun, but we’re here to tell you that you can actually wear those, and we’re going to show you how. We love our go-to jeans just as much as the next person, but why stay inside your comfort zone 24/7? Read on to see our most “controversial” silhouettes and our tips and tricks for styling them.

THE MICRO SHORT
First up? The We The Free Keep It Brief Denim Micro Shorts. These may be our most controversial pair yet — but what if you tried pairing these with classic tall boots and an oversized jacket? The play on proportions gives it a timeless, countryside inspired look that will never go out of style. The extreme cut of the shorts is balanced with the shape of the jacket and height of the boots, making for the perfectly only-at-FP finished look.
THE LONG JORT
Let’s go from one extreme to the next: The We The Free Cruisin' Long Shorts. As a 5’2” gal myself, these are intimidating to me on multiple levels. That is, until, I saw how our team styled them. Paired with a timeless button-down, need-now boat shoes, plus a cheeky hat, belt, and sunnies, this outfit is the definition of an off-duty cool girl. Each of these pieces is effortless in its own way, so when styled together, you have a look that screams, “Thanks, I just threw it on!”
THE BARREL JEAN
Now, barrel jeans are a topic that’s getting a lot of buzz — especially on TikTok. Either you love them or despise them! Our We The Free Moxie Pull-On Barrel Jeans, in my opinion, are the perfect introductory pair to the silhouette. The oversized drawcord detail and patchwork features are a true one-of-a-kind touch. With a cozy sweater, easy sneakers, and an oversized tote? Perfection in an outfit.
THE PRINTED FLARE
What would we be without a hint of retro-inspired novelty? Our We The Free Penny Pull-On Printed Flare Jeans are a fan favorite and for a good reason. The flared silhouette is another controversial fit; sometimes it’s too extreme, or the length isn’t flattering for everyone.
