The DJ/model/jean-loving free spirit talks coziness and personal style…
How has your idea of “home” changed this year? How has it remained the same?
“They say ‘home is where the heart is,’ and that rang true more than ever these past 8 months. Since I’ve never labeled myself as a homebody -- I’m someone who loves adventure and travel -- it has definitely been an adjustment. My husband and I renovated our apartment just before quarantine, so we were lucky to get a sense of newness, inspiration and an overall new energy. It made our time and appreciation of our home that much more special.”3 things that you love most about home:
“The character of our industrial decor, my plants to add more life and color, my outdoor space to take in the sun with my bulldog, and the accessibility to walk out my door and be on the Bowery. I think that’s 4 things. 😉”What’s your go-to outfit when you’re home? Why?
Shop Vixen Jeans and Modern Meadow Denim Suit.
“Most would say sweats but I feel most myself
in jeans, boots, favorite belt, leather jacket.
Boom.”
What makes a t-shirt a forever t-shirt?
“White tees are forever. Whether cropped and paired with high waisted bottoms, or full-length tucked into trousers -- I can’t have too many white tees in my closet.”How do you keep your denim cozy-feeling?
Shop French Girl Flare.
“I’m a creature of habit. The more I wear my denim the more it molds to my body,
the more comfortable it fits, and it becomes a staple in my wardrobe.”
If you had to wear denim every day for a week, what are some ways you might style it?
“I love denim with pretty much a n y t h i n g. It’s just one of those textures
you can’t go wrong with. There is nothing more classic to me than a great pair of jeans
and a white tee. Throw a leather jacket over, throw on a duster, a blazer...
Anything flies with good jeans. And the same goes for the shoes.
Boots, heels, oxfords -- they all do something different for the jean,
making it both timeless and versatile.”
Seems like a lot of people take OFF their jeans once they’re home. Why do you keep yours on?
“Style is expression and cyclical to my everyday mood. You look good, you feel good, you do good. I am my coolest self in my jeans.”
