In Summary…Your Skin Needs a Spring Reset

Your face shouldn’t get all the attention.

Here’s how we’re prioritizing body care and washing away the winter with Summary’s new Power Wash.

A long, cold winter calls for the sweetest spring reset. After short days, snow-filled weeks, and months of hibernation, there is something especially invigorating about setting aside time to recharge and prepare for the warmer months ahead. For me, that looks like deep cleaning my room, writing out my goals by hand, making a new spring playlist , and practicing self-care. While face skincare may get the most attention here, this year, I’ve been focused on skincare for the entire body.

Summary’s Power Wash is designed with post-workout showers and deep cleans in mind, making it perfect for washing away the winter and kicking off your spring reset rituals. Here’s how I used it:

4 STEPS FOR YOUR SPRING RESET

Washing away the winter with Summary , our favorite essential, plant-based line of self-care products.

STEP 1: WORK UP A SWEAT

For me, one of the best ways to reset is to get moving, connecting my mind and body, and stepping out of the busyness of everyday life to focus on movement and breath. Lately, I’ve been on a yoga stint, but I’ve also loved finding new, creative ways to get active: poring through our Home Office We Tried It activities, where I’ve played flag football, ice hockey, and basketball with my coworkers. I’m all about finding workouts that are both fun and community-building—there’s no better way to get moving than with company.

STEP 2: POWER SHOWER

Next, the best part of any routine: the everything shower, or, in this case, the power shower. I’ve been using Summary’s Power Wash for the past few weeks and am in awe of the results. The scent is notably stronger and more refreshing than my other body washes, leaving a lasting fragrance post-shower without being overpowering. The bright, energizing formula cuts through sweat and grime, while also lathering really well. With my sensitive skin, I sometimes go for fragrance-free products. However, the Power Wash has done a great job of cleansing and gently exfoliating my entire body without disrupting my skin’s moisture barrier.
STEP 2: POWER SHOWER

STEP 3: DREAMY SKIN

Specially designed to pair with the Power Wash, the Summary Dream Lotion features the same soothing elderberry seed oil and scent of bergamot, vetiver, and blood orange. After washing away the sweat, grime, and winter blues, I’ve been using Summary’s Dream Lotion, a lotion-serum hybrid, to nourish my skin post-shower. The scents layer effortlessly, and the Dream Lotion is great for retaining moisture, leaving a subtle shine on my skin.

STEP 4: SPRING RITUALS

Post-power shower, I continue my self-care ritual by lighting a candle; specifically, Summary’s Candle To Body Oil, which is equal parts fun and luxurious. It features a blend of natural oils, waxes, and arnica extract, which together create a peaceful atmosphere for my spring reset. This candle adds a lovely, fresh citrus scent with bright notes of grapefruit and tangerine, and after 10 minutes, its top layer melts into a body oil. I like to pour the wax in my hands and rub it in my cuticles and pulse points. In a way, it reminds me of being a kid and wanting to put my fingers in every candle. Tip: Use it in the bathroom over a sink to avoid spilling the oil on your slippers as I did.

After all of this, I’m ready to take on spring, feeling refreshed and totally pampered. Next up: tackling my lengthy spring to-do list.
