gummies

Make your ritual a little sweeter.

I’ll keep it simple: certain supplements aren’t for everyone. (No shame in that!)

Some people can’t gulp down a capsule without holding their nose. Others can’t fathom sipping an elixir with any semblance of consistency. Others, meanwhile, are vitamin-taking champs who can do both of the aforementioned with clockwork precision. (Teach me your ways!)

I probably fall somewhere in the middle.

The reality is that many of us like to boost our daily nutrition with a supplement, and taking them consistently is often key to reaping alllll their benefits. If you fall into one of the above camps, some forms — like multiple capsules or stirrable sips — may not be the right fit for you. And I’m of the camp that getting your added nutritional oomph should be as easy as possible.

Enter: gummy supplements.
I was already a fan of 8G 8 Greens, a dissolving tablet that offers as much Vitamin B5 as 15 cups of broccoli, and had friends and coworkers who were steadfast 8G devotees. However, drinking the elixir every day — as the label suggests — wasn’t in the cards for me, my often-frenzied schedule, or my propensity for putting down a beverage and, um, forgetting about it. So when the brand debuted a gummy that packs the same nutritional punch as its potion counterpart, I was overjoyed.

For me, a sweet-but-not-too-sweet chewable bite was the vitamin void my supplement ritual had been missing. I simply take two a day — and that’s it! The green apple flavor disguises antioxidant-rich greens: spinach, wheatgrass, kale, blue green algae, spirulina, chlorella, barley grass, and aloe vera. And, just like the drink, it contains as much:

  • Vitamin C as 6 oranges
  • Vitamin B6 as 6 cups of spinach
  • Vitamin B12 as 7 cups of milk
  • Zinc as 3 cups of raw peas

"
I haven’t missed a day since I got them.

And now that I’m gummy supplements’ #1 fan, I decided to see what other kinds I could integrate into my ritual. It turns out, there’s a whole smattering of gummy supplements out there: apple cider vinegar gummies with no bitter taste in sight, matcha bears for an energy boost, biotin- and folic-acid-packed bites for long, luscious hair, and tangerine-hued hearts that foster a lit-from-within glow.
Now, as with any gummy, these contain sugar (usually 1-4 grams per serving), so you’ll want to be aware of that when integrating them into your regimen. But if there’s a gap in your diet and your doc endorses the addition, then gummies may be the easiest (and most delicious) route out there to fill your various vitamin voids.

I guess you can say my ritual just got a little sweeter.
