24 days of setting intentions…

One of my most vivid holiday childhood memories involves my mother’s Advent tree. It was a tiny, bottle brush Christmas tree – battery-operated – that lit up and rotated while playing a tinkling, music box-esque carol. It had 12 miniature drawers at the base with 12 coordinating ornaments, and I would rush home after school to see what the magical ornament of the day was.
Now, years later, the “magic” of the holiday season has felt replaced by last-minute gift shopping or avoiding the cold weather. It seems like a slow crawl to the last few weeks of December, where work slows down for a bit and I’m anticipating a fresh start in the new year.
