Or, how I unearthed all of the drawers hiding in my drawer…
In lieu of resolutions, I decided to try something a little different in 2022.
Meaning, instead of crafting a list of (sometimes) lofty new year goals, I thought “you know, I might accomplish more if i just dot my calendar with a few mini-goal reminders, and work my way up (or down).” So that’s what I did – I set up a few quick meetings for myself.
The first meeting was last Sunday – with my underwear drawer.
Ah, the ol’ undies drawer. A daily destination, but one which escapes much regulation or exploration, save for the few pairs of undies that comprise my usual rotation and always sit ready to greet me once the drawer is opened.
I couldn’t even venture a guess as to when I actually pulled the drawer past an inch or 2. Like, who knows what is even back there?
Well, I’ll tell you what was back there. Five pairs of bottoms that I’d never remembered to take out of their packaging, 2 bras which better resembled rags than bras, a sports bra from literally SEVEN years ago, and at least 4 pairs of undies that no longer fit me. Just hanging out, with 2 bars of soap that I used as makeshift “sachets” and will now actually live out their true purpose as cleansing accoutrements. And LOTS of hang tags that need to be recycled asap.
(Oh, and 2 belts and a deck of playing cards. Take that however you like!!)
My designated “underthings” spot somehow became one of those drawers that I’ll bet each one of us admits to having, but usually in a kitchen – you know the one with the pens and batteries and rubber bands and flashlights and keys and chopsticks.
But now, to usher in a fresh and new 2022, the undies drawer has reclaimed its exclusive VIP status – Very Important Personables – and holds not only the 5 unworn undies I uncovered, but a few new additions (including some very convenient bundle options, so you can fill that undies drawer right back up again):
FOR JUST BECAUSE
"A top-drawer essential, ribbed fabrication with subtle pointelle trimming at the edges."
