The Ideal Daily Supplement

This is Actually Worth Adding To Your Routine.

If I’m being honest, my energy levels have been in the red for years. I was a picky eater as a child. Then, much to my parent’s dismay, I became a vegan at age 17. (I later chose to swap out veganism for pescetarianism.) All this to say, I’m very familiar with multivitamins. I grew up taking Flintstone gummies but, as I transitioned out of childhood, it became much more difficult to find vitamins that actually worked for me. I won’t name names but there’s one brand in particular whose daily vitamins made me nauseous, turning me off to ingestibles completely.

Since I grew up with two nurses as parents, I knew that I probably should reconsider my stance against multivitamins. Unfortunately, even at my big age, some days my diet is comparable to that of a 12-year-old boy’s. Apparently, to be a fully functional human, you can’t subsist on Cheez-It’s alone. You need a lot of nutrients — vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. — and in an ideal world, you’d get them from food. But actually doing that isn’t as easy as it may sound. That’s where ingestible supplements come in — taking vitamins are meant to help fill in those gaps. Now that I’ve fully settled into my late 20s and noticed that I don’t feel as energized as I once did, I decided to try out a new multivitamin from Perelel.

The Formula

There’s all sorts of ingestibles in chic packaging that claim to work from the inside out. But the thing about multivitamins is that the market isn’t FDA-regulated so you want to be especially careful about what you put into your body. I was drawn to Perelel’s multivitamin pack for several reasons: 1) They complete third-party testing on all their products to verify their quality, 2) Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach like other supplement brands, all their ingredients are backed by female-specific research, and 3) it’s the first and only vitamin brand founded by an OB/GYN. The vibes were super-trustworthy from the start.

If you’re lacking in nutrients, not only does it impact your physical health but it can show up in your hair, skin, and nails while also having a negative effect on your mood. To help fight against this, Perelel’s Women’s Daily Vitamin Trio comes with three capsules: a multivitamin, an omega DHA + EPA softgel capsule, and a beauty blend capsule. Together, this threesome works to provide key nutrients, support immune function, improve mood, boost energy levels, and support hair, skin, and nail health.

My Experience

If you have a hard time swallowing pills in general, Perelel’s pack is a great option for you. The capsules are well-sized — I was able to swallow all three at once — and there’s no strong lingering aftertaste. And while you’re supposed to take the vitamins alongside a meal and a glass, it won’t be the end of the world if you don’t. One morning, when I was rushing to make the train, I took the pills on an empty stomach and I can confidently confirm: no stomachache. I know — it sounds too good to be true. It’ll take a few weeks before you start to notice any substantial effects but if you’re anemic and lacking in vitamin D like me, there’s a chance you could feel your energy levels start to rise after a week or two.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend this to anyone searching for a multivitamin to add to their routine. It’s easy on the stomach, there’s no strong aftertaste, it’s painless to swallow, and it’s packed with a litany of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It’s the perfect nutritional complement to a Cheez-It heavy diet.
