This rare 1940s US Navy wool robe coat carries a piece of WWII naval history, custom-adorned with the original embroidered chest patch of the U.S.S. Cutlass (SS-478)—a submarine launched in late 1944 at the Portsmouth Navy Yard. Crafted from heavy heathered purple-gray wool with cream and maroon stripe banding along the lower hem and sleeve cuffs, it features a classic broad shawl collar, black piped trim, dual patch waist pockets, and a matching wrap belt tie. A truly remarkable historic piece.
