Cool & Understated
This bag was on my wish list for so long that even after I made the purchase I still looked for it on my list. Very cool bag. I purchased the olive/black. The canvas is waxed. I do see the fraying other reviewers mentioned. The bag is a bit smaller than I envisioned and mine did not come with the dust sack (FP is looking into why-hope for resolution for such an expensive bag)! The bag definitely makes a subtle statement!!
I saw this bag in the store and it was love at first sight! My version is much darker, and the distressing is much heavier than pictured on the web site, both on the canvas and on the leather. I guess this isn't surprising since they're each finished by hand and therefore unique. The quality is top-notch, no complaints there. I did see the bit of fraying issue the other reviewer mentioned, but it's only on the two side pockets. The main compartment zip, back zip, and interior zip are all finished in a more traditional manner - no fraying at all. It's not an inexpensive bag (or I would have given it five stars), but hopefully will stand the test of time and be worth the investment! Plus it's got a major cool factor. I definitely recommend it.
This beautiful back pack is well made and makes me so happy! The only thing is that since it is canvas, the zippers keep getting stuck in all of the fraying pocket fabric. Not such a big deal, I'll just keep cutting those loose pieces as they come undone, but it would have been a nice touch -for the price- if they would have put a little glue or something over the seams so they wouldn't fray (this started happening on day 3 of use). I just hope they don't unravel so much that the zippers come off... Maybe I will try to glue them myself. Anyway, the pack is so lovely I'll happily do some macguyvering to make it work.
my favorite bag
I love this backpack. It's expensive, but it's so pretty and the perfect size. Been using it for about a month now. I don't know why they call it "grey", the color is just like in the picture - like dirty brown.
