This jacket is oversized even for Free People standards. I got the XS (I'm 5'2, 105 lbs and I was swimming in it) The shoulders were way too broad and the jacket hung awkwardly. Quality is shoddy at best and it came with a weird smell. Super disappointed, will be returning :( I hoped it could be a quick throw-on-with-little-effort piece but sadly, this will go back.

I ordered the blue and the rose taupe in this jacket in XS. I'm petite and usually wear a size S or 4 in a jacket, but the XS in these was quite roomy. The sleeves were too long in the taupe but not the blue. That's OK because they can be turned up. The weird thing about this jacket is the belt. Instead of having belt loops, it's INSIDE the back of the jacket, comes out through openings at the sides, then ties across the front. This makes the jacket look bulky and odd when the belt is fastened because the back still hangs straight. I removed the belt and wore the jacket without it, or with the belt tied on the outside, over the back, and it looks fine. It's still bulky, but that's the style. I'll probably wear it open anyway. I'm trying to choose between the colors, but may keep both - the blue for fall, and the taupe for spring. The blue is actually more of a gray, which is fine because it works better with denim. The green and taupe colors are more true to the photo. These jackets are warm enough in chilly weather, but too light for cold weather unless layered.
