Coco Cocoon Cardigan styled by the FP Me community
i know a lot of ladies sized up to get the full cocoon blanket look. personally i stayed true to size (xs) looks just as it does on the model wearing the black one like a cocoon cardigan. i liked that look more and felt it was easier to wear, sleeves rolled up or down. sizing up consists of a lot of the shoulder coming down and feeling the need to continuously wear the sleeves up instead of down. i will say, this is a high maintenance piece of clothing. very delicate and fussy to wear, but also a must have on casual days when you want to be just a little more unique in your clothing. if your not willing to take the extra care for its delicate material, then this cardigan is not for you. its gorgous if you know how to take care of it and wash it, but iv seen some in store that people have returned pilled and its a shame how disgusting it looks when that happens.
Love this cardigan
I had my eye on this for a while but based on the reviews I wasn't sure if I would like it in person, but when I saw it was on sale with an extra 40% I figured it was worth a try. I'm glad I did because I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on. I'm 5'3 & petite and I went with my normal XS and it fit perfectly. It hits a little below my butt, the sleeves fit perfect and it's not overly bulky. It's soft, cozy & flattering on. I prefer to wear it with a long sleeve shirt since it's not really thick enough to wear with a T-shirt on a cold day. It's super cute and I love it!
I read other reviews before I ordered this sweater, sounded like it ran a bit small so I ordered a size up, since I like the roomier fit (I'm usually a S) I received the sweater today and tried it on and was a little disappointed. The sweater is of great quality but it fits rather strange on me. For reference, I am 5'11 and 130 pounds, and this sweater instantly makes my torso look larger :( Will be returning
It depends on the look you're going for...
First off I ordered this in martini. From afar the color looks more gray, and closer up you can really see the green. This is because of the weaving of the two different colors. I listened to other reviews about the size. I normally order XS, but I ordered in MEDIUM. Im 5'4 and around 115 pounds and am more leg w/ a short torso. I wanted it to be longer and roomier. It falls below my bum and it wraps around me like a cocoon! ;) I can totally see this being adorable in my correct size XS. It would be much shorter and hit around the waist / hip area. The fabric is a little stiffer and heavier and it puffs out around the pocket area. I love mine and am considering getting it in a different color in XS for a different look. Hope this helps! ;)
Love the texture and softness
I ordered this in the black. I read the other reviews and wanted to size up to a medium (I'm normally an XS, sometimes small, in most free people cardigans. I'm a size 4 top in other brands and 5'-6"). It wasn't available so I decided to try the small because the sale price was so good. The small was plenty roomy for me still and I'm happy with it. It's pretty close to the roominess in the model photo for me and it hits right below my butt like the model photo. I think the medium would have just looked baggy on me. The texture on the black is really nice and the sweater is going to feel great during our slushy Texas winter weather coming up in January. Do it!
This was my favorite sweater from the moment I put it on until moments later when it started to fall apart (see pic). Seriously, I haven't even tried to have it cleaned yet. Wore it three times for about an hour each time. I treat my clothes well and my entire wardrobe is pretty much Free People (and some at Athro) but I'm getting really frustrated paying so much for clothes that look so beautiful but suffer from such poor construction.
Hi xandreamorrisx, We're sorry to hear about this. Someone from our team will be in touch. - Free People
Wonderful if you order this oversized
By measurements, I am a size small, but based on the previous reviews and because I like sweaters to be oversized, I ordered a size large with this one. The cardigan arrived today and I am totally pleased as it fits exactly like on the model. Color and fabric are very nice and it's going to be a favorite piece. However the picture is misleading, because the model certainly doesn't wear a small. If you want that oversized cocoon fit pictured you should definitely size up.
Favorite Cocoon Sweater!
Not sure about what happened with the other people who have reviewed this, but I'm in love with this sweater. I'm usually a size small, but I sized up to medium since it was the last one in the store I bought mine from. I'm 5'7"/size S/4 and the fit was exactly like pictured on the model-- even the color is accurate. It is a bit loose for me and slips off my shoulders once in a while (but not too often to the point of bothering me), but I did get a size up, so it makes sense. I would totally recommend this to anyone who wants a loose, warm, and comfortable sweater (and the texture is not rough)!!
Love, love, love it!
Seeing the previous reviews I almost passed but because I love the idea of it so much I decided to give it a try and sized up from my normal xs to a medium. I couldn't be more pleased. It's cozy, soft and very like a cocoon! I love the color and the material is very soft. It's not as long or over sized as it appears in the pictures but it is big enough to give it the lovely cozy feel while still showing that you have a figure. I couldn't be more pleased!
not really a cocoon
loved the picture but it's not a coat...only a sweater at best. nowhere near as long as on model. very disappointed. fabric is nice but you would have to be skeletal to get the same look as picture. It doesn't stretch at all. this cocoon will never morph for me. Going Back.
