The fit is awful
I really loved the style of these and when I first received them I thought the fit was odd. I should have followed my first mind and returned them but I did not. I tried wearing them and although they look cute on the cut is awful. The cut is awful and my foot does not fit comfortably in the bottom of the shoe. It seems narrow. Don't buy these
Do not recommend
So i was reluctant to buy these because they are Free People brand - I have had horrible experiences with their purses, but went ahead and bought them anyway because they are gorgeous. So the siding of the shoe as you can see in the pictures, came completely undone within the first 3 weeks of gentle wear. I say gentle wear because they are so unstable and you have to constantly keep tying them over and over and they fall off your feet when you are walking - which I always am, because I live in Chicago. I do not recommend buying these, especially for the price. They are $90! I really should've gone with my instincts and bought Birkenstock's instead.
I haven't experienced any of the problems others have expressed. They fit well, go with so many things and are comfortable for me to wear all day. You do have to fiddle with the straps to get just the right fit, but that doesn't bother me because the end result is so cute.
Fell apart after 2 hours of wear
So I automatically loved these shoes but I was cautious to order a free people brand shoe. They look perfect with everything and the color is awesome. However, after 2 hours of wearing them, the part by my big toe starting stabbing me and I had to stop and take them off to see what was going on. The thong part of the sandal was literally coming apart. A metal wire was what was stabbing me and they were literally falling apart. The small wire had come unraveled and it was the only thing that was holding the shoe together. The bad part, fore FREE PEOPLE, is that I was in a shoe store at the time that just got an email from free people about their shoe brand. The store owner saw that my shoe was falling apart and asked if they were Free People. I had to say yes... the quality is just poor. Needless to say, she won't be ordering free people in her store with a customer who has them on and they are falling apart. I love free people and order alot from them, but I am disappointed lately with the quality of their product. I had to walk back to my car with a sandal that couldn't hold up for 2 hours! I thought I was going to have to drive all the way home to get another pair of shoes, but luckily I had another sandal in my car that day. I returned these the same day I got them. The problem is the style and color was so great that I did order another pair to see if maybe I just got a defective sandal. But I am thinking the same thing will happen to the second pair. I agree that the sandal is not at all supportive. I would just be wearing these on days where I don't have to do a ton of walking. Here's hoping the second pair doesn't hold up like the first.
Hi ehartclark, We're sorry to hear about your sandals. Someone from our team will be in touch shortly. - Free People
I couldn't wait for these to come back in stock. They are beautiful and I loved the suede...they look more of a grey stone than taupe stone colour in person. I found the material at the big toe was very uncomfortable rubbing against my skin. I do wear other shoes like this but didn't experience this problem before. They are not stable at all, almost as though you'll take a few steps and they'll fall off your feet or trip. This is more than likely due to the material being all soft suede. I love suede, its my favourite, though it made this sandal too flimsy for me to walk in. I returned them the next day.
I LOVE THEM
Okay here goes. I ordered the Collins Footbed sandals in Sand about month ago. When I received them they were not too small but not big enough. I sent them back and re-ordered through a customer service rep. I asked if I would get them in time for my vacation. She assured me that I would. HAPPY. I checked my e-mail only to find out the was order was entered in the wrong color. Mind you, I'm overseas and my vacation was in three weeks. I called again and spoke to a gentleman who was beyond helpful. He assured me that I would have them in time. SWEATING BULLETS NOW. I got them Thursday! I tried them on and fell in love with them again! I'm almost ready for vacation (haven't packed yet) which is next Wednesday. Thank you Free People for everything. Love you guys! India here I come!
