Beautiful & Different!
I know there have been a lot of bad reviews on this top but I have to say I personally love it. I have it in both colors. Yes I had to size down and yes it is a different style but that is what makes it so unique. This is what Free People is all about, fun and funky! I received many compliments last week when I wore the white one for the first time. Of course I am sure it is different for everyone but for me, I love it!
Well, I agree with the other reviewers, this blouse is all wrong. It is huge, even the sleeves are ridiculously wide, you could fit three arms in there! The fit of this blouse is so unflattering it makes me wonder if it fell through the cracks during the part of the design process where the garment gets tried on! It seems the only explanation for such an ill fitting blouse. The colour is unappealing too, not a lovely, rich plum but a horrible drab maroon. I order from Free People a lot, the majority of my wardrobe is FP at this point, but I've never experienced an epic fail such as this. So disappointing when I paid $30 in duty fees AND had to pay to send it back. I guess you can't win em all!
Off the scale
To say this top is big wld be like saying it is small - it is gargantuan but very pretty. Looks so lovely in the photo, was looking forward to this top, am 34c, average build, bought small - well I could have had a party with all my friends in it, unfortunately it has to go back. For the price not worth paying the tailor to cut it down to size.
This top is gigantic in comparison to other Free People purchases. I am a size 4 and ordered an extra small, as I am in the majority of FP tops. The XS fits like and XL. The sleeves are huge, and the color is off from the photo. The Plum is much more muted. This immediately went back.
Over the top Victorian
This looked like a good basic feminine top but it is just too frilly for me once on. It has a bit of a 60's Gunne Sax vibe . The color is a bit lackluster , it looks better in the pic and it is definitely boxy looking on. I sized down to a S and it is still large on me. The top of the shirt has so much going on ( the frill, the ties and open neckline ) and so much more material in it than the bottom that it made me look heavy on top which i am not. There are some nice details but they just did not work all in one shirt . I actually tried it on backwards and loved it but not going to be able to work it that way so back it goes...
