I absolutely loved these pants (bought them in a S, my usual size, and returned them for an XS). The fit beautifully, but once I washed them (on the "hand-wash" setting), they immediately fell apart. The frayed so badly at the top and bottom that I can't wear them...it's not just an unfinished seam look...it's a I-just-survived-a-bear-attack type look. Not ok. Waste of money. Love Free People but hate how it's so hit and miss - quality control seriously needs to improve.
Wish I read the review before I purchased in store
While I absolutely adored these pants, they literally fell apart on the 2nd wearing (and I had yet to launder them). I only discovered this as I arose from the restaurant table to discover my backside hanging out and the inside leg shredded! Rather embarrassing. They fitted loosely as per the image on the website, so there was no strain on the seams.I am in the process of trying to get a refund from Free People for this product.

Disappointed and really kind of mad..
Like everyone else said this is poor poor quality... I don't understand why they would not hem the bottom of the pant legs and the top waist band of the pants. My pants are ruined pretty much and only wore them once.. Warning if you buy these have them hemmed before you wash them or really even wear them... I have had two items from Free people that fell apart and only wore them once. I bought a necklace and the back was broken... Ugh

very disappointed :-(
I bought 2 pairs of these pants at the store. Fit is great and loose like on the picture. BUT...they ripped right down the leg, on both sides the 1st time I wore them!!! The worst part is that it can't be patched/sew because of the type of fabric. I had bought some similar pants in the past from FP, and they ripped in the crotch but I was able to sew them. Not these ones:-( Can't wear these pants ever again. Can I even return them??

Poorly made! Don't buy!
My friend got these pants for me as a gift in both navy and red, and BOTH pairs ripped right up the crotch the first time I wore them. They were definitely not too small, but the tissue-thin fabric is just basically made like paper. They are now expensive pajama pants...

Super beautiful, but...
This pants are gorgeous. I bought them at the local FP store in a maroon combo and they looked amazing. I washed them, in the machine, gentle cycle, and the fabric is fraying at the bottom and at the top. I have to take them to a seamstress to be fixed. I think Free People needs to look into quality of the fabrics they use for their products, to match the beauty of the designs. For the price, I expect better quality!
Agree with the others - Bad quality material
I loved these pants in the store so much I bought the orange and blue colors. However, after wearing the blue pants for the first time, there were holes at the cuffs and the seams looked like they were about to bust. I'm thin (6'0" and 145lbs). The pants fit beautifully! - Nice and long, but I had to return both pair due to the quality. Great suggestion for these pants: Maybe consider lining them and re-enforcing all stitching?
I wanted to love these pants sooo much, but unfortunately they had some flaws. I love the look and the wide leg. I could tell right away that the fabric was not great, they were see through and I was afraid to wash them, but I washed them on delicate and let them tumble dry. They came out frayed and ripping apart, and on top of that the fit in the thigh area felt really weird. I am so bummed these pants are so cheaply made. For the price FreePeople needs to produce better quality clothing.
Love them, poor quality
I love the concept of these pants. Comfy, great print, lightweight fabric, bell bottoms, super long. They have a unfinished hem so you can cut off the bottom if you need to shorten them. The draw back of these pants is that they are poor quality. I have worn them once and they are coming apart at all the seems. I took them to a seamstress thinking if she reinforced them it would work out. But she informed me that its the fabric and even if she reinforced them, they would probably rip again. So sad, love them but for $80+ not worth it.

seams ripped on the first wear
I loved the look of these in the dressing room and they fit somewhat loose ...as they should... but like many of the other reviewers here, the crotch to the tummy seams ripped on the first wear...I was lucky to be wearing a long flowing top that covered the rip...and the pants were baggy enough to somewhat hide the 8 inch tear.... so now I have a pair of $98. pants made of very flimsy fabric that are of no use to me? I wonder why free people makes the choice to use substandard fabrics with non reinforced seams? this happens a lot....very pretty clothes that are NOT durable enough to last a season...or even a night...something to think about.
