Why So Pricey?! But Kinda Cool
I am 5'4", 180lbs, 38C, and usually wear a size Large. First off, I know you're not supposed to give "pricing and promotion" opinions, but really... Why is this dress so expensive?! Anyway, I ordered this in a size Large, it fits like it does on the model. When I received the package, I almost didn't know what dress was in the package, because the colors did not look like the pictures. The colors/print are as pictured, but MUCH more dull and washed out, the flash from the camera must give the fabric the vibrant colors for the pictures, because they are definitely not vibrant and that bold in person (strike one). Putting the dress on was a little tricky, one you figure out how to get the choker on. Hah! You have to kind of twist the chocker, not pull both ends apart, and then slide your neck through the opening when it's twisted open a bit. I expected the chocker to be much more "glamourous" than it really is, it feels like cheap plastic, but it might be metal, but it really feels cheap like it will break (strike two). The fabric is really soft and flowy, it is definitely see-through, but I think because of where the pattern hits my boobs I can get away with no bra and nude underwear. The back has some slight elastic give around the waist, but not a whole lot. The dress does not touch the floor for me, it looks longer on the model than it does on me, and I'm sure she's about 5'10" (strike 3). The back comes to about my ankles, and the front to about my mid-shin. With all that said, I'm still on the fence about keeping the dress because it is something different...it's not something you see every day. I got this with the birthday discount (15%) and had some gift cards that needed to be used. So with all that, that's the only reason I might consider it worth keeping, but still I don't believe it's worth nearly $300 (including discount and gift cards). The only thing that makes it worth keeping is that it's "different". I'm going to hold onto it for a couple weeks and see how i feel about it. If I keep thinking "there's something about this I like", then I guess I'll be keeping it.
