I love this dress, it is prefect for a winter event and the prefect dress to show off a great pair of shoes. You can get away with not wearing a bra because the material so thick and great quality. Which is prefect for the deep swoop back. The dress is great for a girl with curves. This is a killer dress to have in your closet.
A must have!!!!
This dress in Merlot is so stunning! The attention to detail and femininity of the dress makes it my favorite dress to date from FP. Snugly sweater like material is stretchy and comfy. Grab it now before its gone!
Wow. This is definitely a statement dress. I have worn it once, hope to get a lot more uses for it. It's great with the strappy back bra (in black). I love it! I bought it in store, merlot color which is dark. Very pretty. 5'7" 125 lbs. bought size small. Length is long, almost touches floor. Looks great with a kick butt boot. I highly recommend!
This Dress is a piece of jewelry, it is the best Free People dress I own. It's precious, elegant, warm and give an instant feeling of sexy coziness, I was planning on wearing it for Christmas but I'm sure I'll wear it for long time after, easy to wear, dress up or down! Sizing in roomy though especially on the hips but the weight of the fabric makes it good, the length is perfect. So sexy with high heels above the knees boots as showend on the picture! In LOVE...
Elegant, playful and sexy
I LOVE this dress! Note, it runs a bit tighter in fit than most FP dresses, especially around the waist; however, the knit fabric is very stretchy and will accommodate curves while the fabric itself is thick and textured enough that is also very forgiving and flattering. I can't say enough how elegant and flattering it is on. It shows just the right amount of skin in the back and through the lace parts to be eye-catching and alluring, but still refined. I am 5'4" 115 lbs and normally wear an XS from FP, but both the XS and S fit me just fine. The material stretches, but doesn't stretch out. I ultimately bought an XS so that the hem would be just off the floor without shoes. Honestly a beautiful well-made dress, with luxe, soft and sturdy fabric. I highly recommend!
Brooklyn Botanical Perfect
I wore this dress for my engagement shoot and it was absolutely perfect! I'm 5'3" and normally wear a small, but for this particular dress I purchased an XS and it was perfect. If you're able to get away with it, you will feel supported without wearing a bra which would keep the back view totally bare and sexy. The fabric is thick, yet beyond comfortable, stretchy and secure. The texture enhances the overall value of the dress. The darkest merlot color is STUNNING. FP needs to keep running this dress each year in different colors - in black, it would be incredible. I HIGHLY recommend you purchase! It is so worth the money If they had it in other dark tones, I would buy until my credit card couldn't swipe anymore. Photography credit: Kamila Harris
I saw this dress in the store in both colors. Stunning. I usually wear a S but found it to be a bit too clingy on the hips showing any extra bumps you might have. However the waist is loose and gives a straight body shape. The bust was even tight in the large for my girls. The sleeves were about an inch too short on my arms but length was good. I'm 5'9" and 34DD at 132. I found the M to fit better but the arms are still a little short. The off white is really sheer so you will need something underneath. The weight of the fabric is nice and is a knit that stretches. They only had a XS and L in Merlot in store. I'm still on the fence about it as it 200$ and wonder how much wear I'll get out of it. The model in the pic is supposed to be 5'11" but must have short arms as the sleeves don't go down that long on me.
Romantic & Flowing Dress
I saw this dress and tried it on in an FP store to get an idea of sizing. I tried both the cream and merlot colors in a Small which fit perfectly. I ended up going with the merlot color. I am 5'4" with a 36B bust. In a small, the front part of the dress hits at my knees and the back part touches the floor. I plan to wear boots with heels with the dress, so I don't anticipate the back length will be a problem. The material is warm and has stretch. I tried a black slip underneath the dress to see if it would work with the low back and cover the midriff area...and it does! At $200 + for a dress, I need it to be as versatile as possible, and not just for a special occasion. I can pretty much wear this dress anywhere, and when I need to be more covered up, I can put on the black slip underneath. Although this dress is very Bohemian, romantic and flowing, it can be appropriate for most occasions by creative use of accessories and under garments :)
So beautiful, amazing fabric
my local store had the red and white dresses and i had to try on both. The overall fabric is amazing, stretchy, soft, colors are beautiful, you definitely need a slip under the white one since it's a bit sheer and the red is very dark. I loved both so so much but unfortunately can't imagine a place to wear either one as they are very stylized, I'm 5'7" and the lace dragged on the floor about 1-2 inches worth, the sleeves are a perfect fit without being too long or tight. I'd definitely recommend this for someone who can pull off the look on a daily basis.
Gorgeous dress and so well made but....
I sooooo love this dress and wish it could have worked for me. It is so unique and has such stunning features; the merlot color is gorgeous! However, it was too big on me and therefore didn't do anything for my figure. For reference I am 5'7, 118 lbs, 32DD, I wear an XS or 0 in FP, sometimes a size 2 in other brands, but almost always an XS in dresses or tops from any other brand too, 26 in jeans (25 in HUdson, 26 In True Religion, Siwy, Jbrand, 26 or 27 in AG). Just wanted to give you as much info on my sizing to help give you an idea for the sizing of this dress. The arms were not as fitted as I would have liked but I could have dealt with that. The dress fit my bust fine, but was fery loose on my back and waist. I have somewhat of a thin hourglass shape, so the dress did skim my hips. But that only made me look completely straight and shapeless. Since I ordered the XS I could not size down. If they had an XXS I would have ordered it in a heartbeat, as it is such beautiful dress. Sigh....I would recommend Sizing down in this, especially if you are between sizes. 5 stars for quality, stunning details, amazing color, and warmth of the dress- but I took off a star for sizing.
