Stretchy sheer lace fit and flare slip with crisscross strapping detail at the shoulders and neckline.
I am 5'2 135 lbs. small frame and a 34DDD and I bought a small! As soon as I saw this dress I fell in love. I read the other reviews saying that it is almost too short if not too short of a dress, but since I am so small it falls exactly where I wanted it to. I was also a little concerned that it would be too tight around my bust since I have such a large bust in comparison to my frame but the material stretches nicely around my bust. Normally when I go shopping I find myself purchasing sizes XS-XL because of my odd body type. I was surprised when I bought a small and it fit very well (a tad loose but not uncomfortably loose) I suppose I expected a brand such as Free People to run larger but I've found that everything is very true to adult sizes. I probably could have gotten away with purchasing an extra small but it was out of stock. None the less, I am extremely happy with my purchase and the app for my iPhone made it so much easier <3
So cute, but so short
I have debating buying this dress for months. I finally got it and it's more of a shirt than a dress. My butt and thighs were completely visible. The front was just barely covered. I'm 5'9 and about 120 lbs and got ab XS. The overall sizing was great, but the super high waist and non-existent skirt was a deal breaker for me. So bummed because I love the style, just not doable if you're tall and or into the whole peplum thing.
Very cute; but has it's cons
I purchased this dress from a store (it was on sale for $30!) and I fell in love. I wore a pair of dance shorts and a bralette under it and it looked wonderful! The fit was almost perfect and the cut was very flattering, there was just one problem; the lace snags like crazy. Some lace can brush against other materials and not even notice but this dress? If your sleeve runs across the skirt they will catch on each other and pull. As much as I love the dress, it would be ruined after just a few wears, so for the $98 (or even $30) I'd say go with a different option.
Love this dress!
I ordered the evergreen in size small and it fits me perfectly (I am about 5'5" 120Ibs) . I did have to buy something to go underneath as I was warned by the previous reviewers-thanks for the heads up on the see-thoughness guys. I wish these online retailers such as free people would indicate sheerness in their product descriptions, as it seems to come up as a problem a lot! I am in fact returning a too-sheer tee shirt to another online retailer as we speak. This dress, however, I was willing to work with because it is so amazing, and the $4 long cami I found to go underneath works great (although I am nitpicking and having my awesome mom turn it into more of a v-neck so it doesn't show at all). I agree with another reviewer that you pretty much have to wear a strapless bra with this unless you are cool with your straps showing. I think this is too pretty for my bra to be sticking out of! Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to the bra-sticking-out look, and in fact rock it quite often with other outfits, it just doesn't work with this dress.
I bought this and one other black dress from Free People today. I've been looking at it online and I went into the store today and they had it! I generally wear a Small and the small fits perfect. It IS sheer, so a slip or "full coverage" undies are necessary. It looks cute with a black bra. it's a tad short, but it's flowy, so no riding up and my butt stays covered. SUPER adorable with boots!
I am 5'4" 130lbs and a 34C/D. I ordered a small and it fit PERFECTLY. The length for me is a little longer than on the model. Since the hem is uneven, I do need to wear boy shorts or the seamless romper slip (also from Free People) underneath the dress because if I bend over some of my rear end will hang out where the hem is the shortest. In my opinion it does not show too much cleavage. Since the lattice is there, it kind of camouflages the cleavage and makes you look relatively modest in the bust area. The lace is VERY good quality and stretches well without feeling like it will tear on me. Definitely worth the money!
juliet lattice fit and flare slip; black; size S
I love the way that this slip looks on the model, but unfortunately, upon receiving it in the mail, I knew that I had to return it. For almost $100, it just wasn't worth the price. It is completely sheer and very revealing, so you already have to wear multiple other layers to make it wearable in public, not to mention that it's very short. You'd also probably have to wear a strapless bra. Waist is not cinched and is rather high up, so I'd probably have to belt it, as well. Given all of these extras, it just didn't seem worth it when there are lined dresses by FP that look very similar for a better price.
I ordered this dress online in black and I absolutely love it! It's a tiny bit loose around my waist but that's nothing unusual as my waist is super small. The fabric is nice, doesn't seem cheap. Super fitting and very very cute!
I really liked this product but I recommend buying a slip from Free People. This dress is all lace and it is see through without wearing a slip underneath it. I recommend a black slip to wear with it. It fits very nice but it does ride up a little on the short side so if you wear a slip make sure that the slip is also short enough otherwise it will show. Overall a great buy.
