It's a cute jacket but...
it's pretty fluffy. I did not anticipate it being as fluffy as it turned out to be based on the way it looks on the model. It does however have quite a bit of volume. I am still trying to figure out how exactly to wear this so that I don't look like a total marshmallow, but so far when I have worn it, I get complements on it, so maybe it's just me? Anyway despite the fluff I will be keeping it, because the fabric is super soft and I am hoping the volume will go down with a bit of time and wear.
...this is not short and Lg size friendly. I ordered a large because the measurements were not specific as the size went up from a Sm; this was a precaution, since I figured I could always exchange/return. The size chart doesn't really cover the sleeve length, because it's a kimono and not just any kind of top you can button up or throw over your head. Firstly, my body type is small (4' 11') and I'm larger around the waist area. The Lg aspect of the waist fits perfectly! It's comfy and soft and closes just enough around my waist without falling apart or wrapping around to my back. The only drawback is that the sleeves are SO long that they almost go past my wrists, so it looks like i'm swimming in my top. I don't see myself wearing this outside of my apt. so I don't mind it. But I wanted to leave this review for those going for larger sizes (that aren't tall) to keep this in mind. If comfort over exact fits is okay with you then I say buy it! It was well worth it for me. Side note: the tie for this kimono is also not that great. It's an extremely long, flimsy string. I can wrap it around my waist twice, but I can't tie a bow at that point. But if I tie it only once it's still too long. I will be buying a sash for it soon.
