Little Dot Mini Dress styled by the FP Me community
my wedding reception dress!
yes, the title says it all, that's how amazing this dress is. i wanted the perfect dancing dress that reflected my personality and this was it! the gold detail and polka dots won me over, they really are better in person. it is shorter on the sides but not as exaggerated as on the model. yes, the white is sheer, but i wore a half slip and was fine. i did not find the arms to be tight at all. it was a huge hit and i actually received more compliments on it than my BLHDN wedding dress! i'm so happy to have this dress and that i can wear it over and over again and always be reminded of dancing the night away with my love and my friends.
Oh how I love this dress
I read the reviews on this dress and thought I'd gamble and purchase it online and I am so glad I did! I am a solid medium in FP and it fits true to size, the sleeves fit great, the length is perfect (5'5"). I am a bit bothered by the raw edges dripping loose threads but other than that I absolutely love it and feel GREAT wearing it. I wore it with my two-tone beige Lucchese cowboy boots and an Anthropologie fringed shawl and the compliments wouldn't stop coming!
Nice, but runs large
Due to wide shoulders and pregnancy-boobs, I ordered this in large like I order most tops right now. I was like a tent on me, so I'm exchanging it for a medium. Looks nice on when I pinch the fabric in the back to make it not so wide. I didn't find it to be see-through like one of the prior reviewers.
Odd sizing and white is see through
I so wanted to love this dress but it will be a return. I tried both white and black. The detail in the black is completely lost so it looks rather plain. The white shows the detail well and is lovely except for the fact that it is completely see through even with the lining. Despite all of the above I still would keep it except for the odd fitting. Everything fits like a typical free people sizing except the arms which are tight and fit odd in a way that limits mobility of the dress. Lifting my arms is problematic in this dress. And yet the rest is very loose per usual. If I were to size up this dress would fall right off of me so sizing up would not be an option. I am really disappointed that they missed so badly in the arm/shoulder region of the dress. For reference I am very narrow shouldered and have tiny arms and am an xsmall in fp. That said I don't understand how the arm region could possibly fit anybody else correctly.
A huge compliment-getter
Have this in the vanilla color and love it - I actually got it from a boutique and they couldn't keep it in stock! The details are beautiful and it's just a lovely dress. The only minor gripe I had was sizing-related - since there is no zipper, I had to size up to be able to pull the dress over the largest part of my chest (D cup), which made it a bit big overall, with a tendency to slip off the shoulders a bit. The fit is supposed to be a bit loose, though, and it was still flattering, so I happily kept it. Just a warning to any bustier ladies!
