Beautiful but too delicate
I got this top as a Christmas present and I absolutely love it but I've only worn it a handful of times and two of the buttons have come off (I've re sewn the others) and some Of the embroidery has come unstitched. Unfortunately there are also some loose threads which is very disappointing considering how expensive this top is.

Stunning in black
Totally agree with the previous reviewer. Black is the way to go with this top! Shows the detail a lot prettier and the rest of the colors look bland. I did notice that the bottom part of the bodice was sewn on to the yoke a bit crooked.. it could just be the one I purchased. Still beautiful and the elasticated waistband is so delicate and subtle that I don't mind it being there at all. The wrist detail with the lace and buttons also add a romantic Victorian touch.
sheer and lovely
Had this in the wish list in ivory but bought in store in black, size small (I'm usually a medium, 36DDD, 34" waist and 150 lbs) and it is marvelous! The black is sheer and sexy, showing all your curves if you don't wear a camisole. The very structured victorian look of the shirt is a nice contrast to the sheerness and the low back. I am curvy but had to size down for a less tented look. The crossbar lace above the upper chest is slightly restrictive, so those with a C cup or larger are likely to have their breasts "presented" center stage and balconette style when wearing this with the scoop neck to the front. I put the top on backwards to compare, for a V neck effect (easily done, just cut the tag out carefully) and had much more "breathing room" for the girls! I would wear this forward or backward depending on my mood and the venue. I was worried about the elastic waistband ( I don't do elastic at all due to tummy roll issues) but this elastic is loose and more of a formality than anything else-it doesn't pinch or restrict you at all. The button up cuffs are loose enough to allow you to put the shirt on without having to unbutton them, very convenient. Wasn't impressed with the ivory lace at all, had a washed out effect. The black gives you much more contrast and is sexier against the skin because it is ultra-sheer but not in a flimsy way. Highly recommended. I will pair with tea length slips, half slips and camis, capri jeans and mini skirts. Chalk blue looks uninteresting and drab…would love to see in hot pink, red or a lemon yellow.
