Military inspired knit sweater jacket with peplum hem, contrast ribbed sleeves, and two rows of brass buttons.
I bought this jacket with the hopes of it being warm enough to wear as a winter jacket but that is not the case. It is better for fall climates (40-50 degree weather). HOWEVER, the jacket fits true to size and is incredibly versatile! Even though I can't wear it as a jacket now I know that I will get my wear out of it!
Just got the red, it's adorable, wonderfully warm, and mostly comfy. However, it's way thicker than what it looks like on the model. See the beige pics, where the model is facing the camera buttoned up.Trying it on, I look HUGE. The material is so thick that the peplum sticks way out, not laying flat like the pics. Only M and L left so I bought a M, but I feel like if I got a S or XS the body would fit better, but the arms would be way too tight. I'm so determined to make this work because otherwise it's as cute as all get out! To the tailor!
Not what is pictured
I found this on the sale rack in a store and was so excited because I had seen it online and wanted it. Trying it on I was a bit disappointed because the color red is nothing like it is in the picture - it is more of a brick/orangey red than the bright red shown here. I tried it on in a small and it was too big, maybe if it had been an XS it would have had a cuter fit. However, with that said, it did seem to be a very warm coat. It was heavy material. I'm glad I got to try it on in the store so I didn't order it online since I didn't end up liking the way it looked on me or the color.
How awesome is this jacket! I bought it in the red color and it is gorgeous. It is heavy enough to be warm for winter with a warm layer underneath and a chunky scarf, but light enough to wear unbuttoned on a milder day like a cardigan. BEWARE: the buttons are loosely sewn on. There were two of these in the store and one was already missing a button. I am expecting to re-sew a button or two on mine because the threads are loose. Something to keep an eye out for. Other than that, a perfect jacket!
I just bought the red sweater and also the beige with blue stripes. After wearing the beige sweater maybe five times, the entire sweater began pilling. Serious pilling. Don't know yet if the red sweater will do the same, but probably will once it's worn a few times. Disappointed, I keep gathering the pills and wonder if this will continue. Curious as to why these sweaters are doing this. I'm in my 50's, have bought so many sweaters over my lifetime, but never have found this problem.
grt peplum look, and heavier than it looks in pic. Warm. late fall- early winter material. recommend it. I thik it'd lookg good in petite people too. myself and my mom are petite(5ft 3inch, 40~45kgs) and this looks like a one piece dress from behind. lengthwise too. it'd go mid- hip for tall people, but for petite or xs sizes, all you need it shorties + legwear or leggings, and you are good to go.
heavy weight, super warm
A solid and heavy weight knit sweater/jacket- I tried this on at my local store after seeing it on a mannequin and fell in love. I purchased the driftwood color in a medium which is my size. It has a slight peach/tan tinge to it but still works as a neutral color. It is super warm (think itchy warm wool for an autumn day) and is fitted enough to wear a thin sweater or shirt underneath. I love the peplum skirting on it, gives a feminine flair, almost like a mini dress. Well worth the price, with the weight and construction, seems like it should have been over $200 easily.
