Etched arrowhead pendant necklace with chainlink detailing above pendant. Snake chain style chord with lobster claw clasp closure. *By Biko
Biko is a ‘modern nostalgic’ jewelry brand, designed and handcrafted with love in Toronto, Canada. Designer, Corrine Anestopoulos, draws inspiration from memories of the past and translates such ideas into wearable, contemporary silhouettes. Biko marries vintage inspiration with mixed metals, hand-cast pendants, and natural stones to create versatile pieces that tell a story.
I love this necklace - It looks true to the pictures and is a great length - not too heavy either. I mix and match it with other pieces I have. It looks great paired with long a silver necklace. I rub it over with a silver jewellery cleaning cloth and it shines up nicely for a rustic piece. Vey happy with my purchase.
This necklace is very cool but as other reviews have said it grabs the hairs on your neck. After about 15 minutes it's very annoying!!!!! I thought about trying another chain but you have to break it in order to get the chain off(the clasp is very large). For the price it's not worth the trouble. If they ever change the chain I'll buy it again.
I purchased the silver spear. It is a pretty piece. Good weight to it. Can be worn short or long. I personally was not impressed with the quality when compared to the price though. The fact that it came to me covered in some sticky film didn't help. After trying to clean it out of the small crevices, it hit me that having paid almost $182 after tax, I shouldn't be having to clean it before wearing it...so... I decided to just send it back.

Mira pendant by Biko
Well, please let me begin by saying I love jewelry. Of all kinds. I, however, don't enjoy anything that tarnishes that can't be cleaned. When I initially purchased this item, I thought it odd & a good purchase for what's actually listed as a brass piece. I've called Biko & do hope to hear that it can be polished; but according to the reviewer before me; she's tried & failed to do so. If I get a different piece of news tomorrow; I'll certainly update you all. Overpriced for quality. An odd piece for sure- I just feel it misses the mark as one that will last for years to come.
I waited to review this piece for about 5 months and I hope this is helpful for those debating on purchasing it. I've enjoyed wearing it so much.5 stars for uniqueness but as I've worn it, it has gotten darker and cleaning it w/ natural brass remedies hasn't worked well. I won't do the chemical stuff so it's a dark piece now which I don't mind, I just preferred the shine it once had. Now for quality, I'm SO disappointed. The snake chain is beginning to warp and not just a bit but it won't lay flat any longer but twists to the right. when I wear it the long way. This is a real bummer considering I had to save for a while to get this...There is no way of replacing the chain without prying open the rings that attach the arrow so I don't know what is to be done about it. I just hope it doesn't get worse. I absolutely don't regret purchasing it but I don't believe the pricing is fair.
Slightly puzzled by the negative points in some reviews. I can only think that the customers got an atypically imperfect piece. I now have several Biko items and really love them. They are stylish and they are solid and they are going to last. The weight is nicely balanced, it feels like quality. The designs are unusual and really striking and the metal combinations look good to me. I haven't experienced the chain catching on me as another reviewer did; I think she may have been unlucky. I like the way you can wear these Mira pendants (and some other Biko pendants) two ways. You don't have to wrap the chain round twice: you unclasp it, pull the chain up to its full length between the two rings connecting it to the pendant, put it over your head, then take the two loose ends and clasp them at the back of your neck (sorry if you'd already worked that out: I didn't cotton on for a while!). It's better - more comfortable - than wearing it wrapped round twice, it looks more interesting, and it's like having two completely different necklaces. I'm a big fan of Biko.
Amazing looking but questionnable quality
I've been pining over this piece and finally splurged. From a distance, everything about it looks amazing. Rustic, unique, powerful. However, given the materials, it's lighter in weight than expected. The chain is painful; it traps hair (neck and head) in a serious way. The worst part is the silver connector. From the images, it appears that the silver part is one braided continuous piece. Turns out it's not. There are separate metal circles and some of the circles were unclosed and unwelded so the edges are exposed. So disappointing given the price.
Pricey, but unique
I got the spear and though it's a bit pricey the quality is great and it's a real stand out piece. It is very long and works great wrapped twice or hanging loose. The chain is very substantial and the charm has good weight to it.
There is no doubt this is a unique piece. It's quite large and long, if you're a petite build. I will have to double up the cord, or else the pendant falls well below my stomach. I expected the spirals connecting the pendant to the chain to be in the same colour but it is not---more like a thick steel. That's the reason I gave it 3 stars. It's also a tad bit expensive. But definitely a unique piece.
Beautiful - worth the price
Even though this necklace is pricey, it is worth the splurge. I started wearing it as soon as I got it, and my little one kept pointing at it (it is a beautiful statement piece). It is a long necklace but long enough to fold it twice around your neck, so that the spear lies close to the neck. I am in love not only with the design but also with the quality and the colour, which is not very shiny. I am taking for sure this necklace to Europe next week.
