Heavy knit mock neck mini sweater dress featuring a colorful large scale paisley print. Front slip pockets and a flare sleeve.
Beautiful but runs large
It's a beautiful dress - the flared sleeves are awesome. However, I ordered a small (I'm 5'8, 125 pounds) and like many Free People clothes found it runs very large. This dress is now out of stock, otherwise I'd love to exchange it for an xs. However...this dress is too cute just to send back, so I'll keep it (even though it's a blanket on me). I really, really wish it had fit and the xs was available.
This dress is even better than in the photos except for one flaw. The sleeves on mine are absurdly long. I bought the xs and it fits well in every other respect. I am 5'3 and just short of 90 lbs, and the dress is a tad longer on me than on the model but still short enough. My arms are normal length but sleeves were so long they completely covered my hands, so I had to take it to the tailor. (Same thing happened with another FP dress recently bought.) Otherwise the dress is very cute--fabric feels nice and colour of pattern is very pretty, nice contrast with the black.
better than expected
I had seen this dress online and didn't really think twice about it. Recently saw it at my local FP and it is definitely more of an impressive piece in person. The fabric is light and softly knit and comfortable but still warm. I'm 5'6 135 lbs with more narrow hips and I found the dress very flattering - didn't have the same issues as the other reviewers. I tried on a small and medium - the size I get in FP usually depends on what kind of fit I want - ended up getting the small. Still a nice slightly over-sized fit but not frumpy. I love it. Perfect for going out in cold pnw weather.
Not Flattering for Pear/Hourglass Figure
The quality of this dress is great, a perfect weight for winter and very comfortable. Pattern is pretty, too, kind of a burnt red/light gray space dye. I am 5'3, 35-28-38, and ordered my usual FP size, S. It was a little on the longer side, which I expected given my height, and the shoulders were just a little roomy. Accurate to the picture, the dress is a loose shift, so there was a lot of room in the waist, and more room in the hips than I thought there'd be. It all falls apart at the pockets, which hit me right on the hips. Essentially it hid my assets and made my hips look frumpy. Back it goes. This dress will fit a more narrow-hipped body beautifully! Order a size down unless you have athletic shoulders.
This dress is so warm and comfortable. It's going to be great for Thanksgiving festivities this week. Definitely not a summer dress. The flared sleeves are everything! Wearing it with over the knee boots. It's a little large,if you're wondering about sizing I would go down. XOXO SP
Way better that the picture!
I bought this today at my local FP and it is so flattering! I got a medium which is my usual FP size. I'm 5'3" and 140 pounds and it fit perfectly. I doubt I would have bought this online and the picture does not do it justice. I got the black and plan to wear it with tall red boots. The print jumps out more than pictured and the "black" is softer in tone.
Cool pattern, not tummy-flattering
I got this in my typical XS (I'm 5'7", 34 b-c, 25-26, 34) in black and really liked the cut and pattern. It's definitely on the shorter side, which I knew from the description, but I found it was actually a bit longer than I expected. The he problem for me was that it ran large in the tummy area, which is my problem area anyway), so it bunched up and added even more bulk in that area. I also was ho-hum on the fabric. Pretty dress that just didn't work for me.
