The boots pictured were my 'holy grail' and although out of my price range, I'd been looking for such a long time that I decided to bite the bullet and just go for it. If they were good quality they should last for years... What arrived were quite different. Instead of the soft, supple, rich black leather imaged, the boots were a pale black/grey colour, stiff/rough to touch and looked like anything you could buy off the high street for about £20... The actual make of the shoes do not look sturdy, when you look closely at the seam of the boot and the sole, it has been glued and not stitched and I would expect it to burst within a few weeks of wear. On the left shoe the arch is somewhat collapsed, so from above my foot looks fat and swollen and finally the rings featured at the back look cheap and more like plastic than distressed metal (although this is just conjecture I've have this problem with a lot of boots in the past and know what to look for - these boots are a big red flag). Can't believe the quality of the product could vary so dramatically as to what's pictured, I'm completely underwhelmed and think that £128 is an absolute joke. Will be returning immediately. ** size wise I'm an EU 40 so went for the US 9 - about a whole size too big.
New Fave Boots
I wasn't one hundred percent sure about these boots when I saw them online and read the reviews. I loved the look of the boots (minus the holes on the back) so I thought I would give them a shot. I am definitely not disappointed! I even like the holes on the back, they are cute and not as flashy as I was picturing. I am usually a size 7-7.5 depending on the shoe and I really hate when my boots pinch my toes. I order a 7 and they are perfect! The boots are perfectly distressed and actually very comfortable, I would definitely recommend them.
Not as pictured
I was super excited to get these boots and was even willing to pay the Canadian exchange rate because they looked so amazing. BUT I was totally let down when they came. The color is absolutely nothing like the online picture. They are a chalky tan colour and not the rich brown pictured. Hugely disappointed.
A little disappointed
Ordered the boots, and then received an email saying they were on back order. Waited 2 months before I finally received them. I am a size 8, but they really seemed like a size 9. The bottom of the shoe is very slippery and I could barely walk without sliding on the floor, no traction at all! I thought I would give a size 7 a try. Ordered it, and they fit a little better, but the sides of my feet were a little too tight, still had plenty of toe room, though. Not sure if they will stretch over time, but don't want to risk it and will be returning these too. The color of the shoe is also a bit off. It's more charcoal and not black.
These boots are AMAZING. The leather feels thick and heavy, like it'll hold up with age. I got the brown color in size 8, and they're not as red or dark as the photos, they're more of an ashy brown. These run totally true to size, they're the first free people shoes I've gotten that haven't been too small. Definitely going to be my go-to shoe for the fall.
I just got these in black and love them. They fit me really well and I think the quality is amazing for the price. I am thinking about getting the brown as well since I wear them with both dresses and jeans and when the weather gets warm, I am going to wear more brown then black. I also love the dusty finish and like that it is aging well as I wear them. I am very happy.
Just got these today.....they are pretty cute, but they run narrow and the toe box is too tight for me....also they are narrow at the top......I would like to see the top circumference measurement added to the boot desriptions
