Gingham fit-and-flare mini dress with pleating and an embroidered surplice V-neckline. Hip pockets.
Funny sleeves, but nice dress
This fits true-to-size for me, and I didn't have any of the fit issues the previous reviewer did. The top part lay perfectly fine for me (I'm a 34DDD/32F for reference) and the waist wasn't tight. I'm typically a S or XS in FP, depending on how loose-fitting something is or if I want to size up for length. I went with a small in the rose color for this one, and was overall happy with how it fit. The color is pretty and true to how it looked on my monitor. The only part that was a little strange was the sleeves - it's hard to tell in the pictures, but they actually have a black elastic panel on the underside, which I could have done without. Overall, though, I'm happy with the purchase
I ordered this dress in the green. I love it! It is ridiculously comfortable. Every time I wear it I get tons of compliments. It looks great with my lace up boots and knee high socks too and when I throw on my long maxi coat. Size wise, I ordered a small. I'm 36D in the chest, and a size 6. I'm 5'9". The length was not to short or anything on me. The green is exactly what you see here in the pictures.
Goooorgeous!!! Perfect holiday dress!
Hi I just bought this dress in the store and I literally LOVE it, I'm not sure why the other reviewer had so much trouble. First off the dress is a gorgeous hunter green, maybe the dye was just different for mine...? I don't know but I love the color, it is a dark green, certainly not kelly green. I am usually close to a 14 in size and always buy a large in free people dresses. I have a very extreme hourglass figure, I'm a 36G with an even smaller waist and a booty and I found this dress to be seriously flattering. The waist band is a little tight for a large but I don't mind it, I think it helps to keep the dress closed up top. I'm sorry the other reviewer had such a bad experience but I love this dress I plan on wearing it with tights and fringe booties!
Weirdest (worst) proportions EVER
When I tried this dress on, I played with how it lay for a bit before I exited the dressing room to ask the saleswoman if it was SUPPOSED to look like it did, and she wound up actually calling another coworker over to take a look at it because it was just so poorly designed. We were all totally shocked and confused. I had actually been searching for this dress for a few weeks, so I was thrilled when I found it by accident on a flight layover. I tried on a size L - I typically wear 10 in FP dresses, and can usually wear a M or L. First off, colour. The dress online is this lovely dark hunter green, with teal undertones. In person, it's kind of a horrible, brighter, almost Kelly green - yuck. But I persisted, thinking it would look nicer on. The waist band itself fit fine, probably a bit tight for an L and I would have preferred different kind of waistband rather than the weird tight elastic deal they have on this one, because even on the close-up of the model it's only attractive in the middle where the black band is, but the obvious elastic along the sides and back stands out. But what REALLY struck me was just how insanely much fabric there was in the top half! I wish I had gotten a picture - I mean, all three of us were grabbing fistfuls and still had fabric to spare. It gaped open at the chest (and I have a large 32DDD chest, so it's not that I'm small-chested), and had copious fabric dropping around and under my armpits. Then, when I turned to go back into the fitting room, the saleslady went, "WOAH. There's even a ton of fabric in the back!" and sure enough, there was so much excess fabric in the back it was unbelievable. This is probably the worst designed dress I have ever tried on by Free People. Maybe it fits better in a small, I don't know, but WOW the L was atrocious. So glad I didn't waste $168 on this monstrosity. It's not even "cute slouchy" or "cute baggy" - it's just bad.
