This style chair was originally carved in France in the 1890's and shipped to India by the Maharaja for use in the palace. This reproduction chair has been hand carved by master craftsmen in India in solid Burmese teak using the same "mortise and tenon" construction used over 100 years ago in the original chair. The bright cotton quilts used as upholstery were found in Rajasthan, India. The dimensions of the seat are 23" long, 22" wide at the back of the seat, 27" wide at the front of the seat, 39.25" high at the top of the chairback, 18.5" high at the seat.
