Cute but disappointed...
These jeans are super cute but they were HUGE on me. I am small and petite and normally wear a 24 or 25 in free people pants, they normally fit perfect. I ordered a size 24 and they seemed 3 or 4 sizes bigger! I was sad I had to send them back because i did like them but they were just too large.
I have both the imperial blue and the moonlight. The moonlight (black) run a little bit larger than the blue. They're so flattering at the top, which is hard to find. I've gotten my fair share of wearing. However, the black pair have ripped in the crotch. I plan to get a new pair soon.
Motto Legging review
These are great & truly unique leggings ! They fit well & are a great feeling, breathable material. I've worn them to yoga class, & got them specifically for that purpose. I'm a 12, so I took a L. Hope this helps !
I love these jeans! They definitely run large. The info about the measurements of the 28 didn't help me at all. They say that the 28 has a 91 inch hip, which I have, but a 31 inch waist, which I don't have (my waist is about 26 inches). but based on the other reviews I decided to order the 25 as the other reviewers also said it ran large. The last jeans I bought were in a size 27, so I wasn't sure if these would fit, but they did, and perfectly. I'm quite short so the jeans don't have the 7/8 length with the bare ankle on me, they fit like normal long skinny jeans. But the detailing is lovely, the material is stretchy, I can move very freely in these jeans (jumping, sitting down, squatting, bending, dancing, all no problem). The only thing I would criticise is the colour. I ordered them in the anders blue and it doesn't look at all as it does in the photo. It doesn't even look blue. It's more like a muted dark grey/black with maybe a bluish hue. I'm lucky because I like that colour as well, but maybe somebody doesn't and would be disappointed because they wanted the colour shown in the picture. Other than that, awesome! Also I'm located in Europe, the jeans took about three weeks to arrive, which was fine, but also customers from outside America be prepared for a customs fee. It wasn't huge but still, it's there.
LOVE - edgy, flattering, versatile
Amazing jeans! I am 5'7", 129lbs and went with the 26 in midnight - perfect fit. They stretch a bit with wear, so if at first they feel a touch tight, that's probably what you want. Like other reviews have noted, these run large, size down one size and you should be set. These look great with a chambray tunic and slim pack sorels in nutmeg but can easily be turned metal with the Emerson boots (have in black and love) and an edgy top. Thanks FP for another amazing jean! Likely to add another color of these to my wardrobe at some point.
I am 5'11" and I have so much trouble finding pants that are long enough on my frame.. these are slightly short, but since they're skinny i can get away with it. The cut of the pants makes my legs look even longer and add so much character to any outfit! I bought the black, and i'm loving them. Thanks, FP, for another great product!
buy me one of every color please
I bought these in Moonlight (black) and Fatigue (green). I am 5'10, ~125, and my measurements are 35-25-38.... aka I have really wide hips. Hips are always the limiting factor for me when it comes to pants. The waist and thighs of most pants I try on will be too loose, but the hips are tight and I get all those not-very-pretty horizontal tension lines in the fabric across my hips. Usually I wear 4-6 in pants, and I have one pair of j crew pants that is 27. I went with size 27 in these due to the "size down" recommendation (lots of stretch in these) and because I have a comparatively small waist. These pants are AMAZING! A little tight at first, but they loosen up a teensy bit over the course of the day. Still have some of those tension lines across the hips, but they're not very noticeable due to the dark colors. I want one in every color now though!!! And three more of the black haha. They are a little bit short (and I only have average length legs), but I guess that is the style now. Doesn't really matter for me cause I wear boots with my jeans 90% of the time. Love, love, love them and highly recommend!!!
great fit, could have sized down!
this is my 1st pair of free people jeans so i can't really compare them to others. my weight is always back and forth between 129-133. i'm 5'3". my waist measures to about 29". i usually wear a size 6 in most jeans, sometimes 4 if they run big. i bought these in a size 29. they fit great around my legs and thighs, but a bit loose around my stomach. it's still comfy, they don't really fall down either, but i could tell i probably could have gone with a 28. i would probably have returned these for a size smaller if i didn't find them with such a good price.
color way off
I ordered these jeans in Anders Blue which in the photo on the website looks like a dark faded denim. Well the jeans I got are GREY not dark blue. They are in NO WAY a dark blue. I am extremely disappointed. I love everything else about these. I already own a pair in moonlight (which are a bit more faded black than they look in the picture). So now i have a light grey and dark grey pair instead of a black and dark denim pair. I don't want 2 pairs of grey. I had these shipped to Canada and had to pay taxes and duty on them so returning them is not an option as I'll loose all that money. What can I do? Other than that I love the style and fit of these pants. They do run a bit large (I sized down from a 28 to 26) because the fabric is so stretchy.
