Matte leather pointy toe textured flats with cool exposed sides.
little sad about this ones... : (
I've ordered the black ones & they look really nice but they are too hard & extremelly small. I bought them for the price (thinking of using them for work), but unfortunatelly they are not worth it :(... I feel bad about not reading previous reviews before buying...
Not going to lie: it took me three months of almost constant heel blisters to break these monsters in. But I love them. I've had them close to a year now and wear them most days of the week. They look great, they finally feel great, they're my favorite pair of shoes. They're wearing pretty thin at this point (the inner lining at the heel tries peeling away, same at the toe), but nothing a little epoxy can't get under control. Otherwise the outside wears well, it's gotten a nice patina and some rugged little creases. No one's pretending that this is the world's sturdiest footwear, but they've held up pretty well for what we've been through and they look sacrément bon in the process.
The One Hour Shoe
I was so in love with these shoes when I first saw them, but living in NYC, I wanted to make sure they were comfortable, so I went to a store and tried them on first. So glad I did--normally I'm a size 39, but I couldn't even fit my foot in them, I finally ordered two pair (tan and black) in size 41! When I first put them on, they were a bit tight, I thought maybe they just needed to be broken in. Within my 15 minute walk to the train, my feet were in so much pain. I took them off when I got into the office, and when I went to put them back on my feet were already so covered with blisters that I physically couldn't wear them. I tried two bandiads per heel and even tissue, but the pain was still crazy. The story ends with my roommate having to bring me a new pair of shoes, and these beauties being sent back to where they came from.
Beautiful, but Small
These shoes are so perfect and simple, but run quite small. I ordered them in a 37, and found that the width and length were okay, but the leather over the toe is TIGHT. For reference, I wear a 36 Birkenstock and 6.5 to 7.5 in US sizes. I've been pulling some leather stretching techniques out of my sleeve to get these to where I want them. Put on medium thickness socks, heat the shoe with a hair dryer, spray in a mix of 50/50 rubbing alcohol and water, and shove your foot in.
Not what I expected
These are cute and run TTS, however, the left shoe was a bit stretched. Not sure if it was out on the sales floor or what. Also, in the picture there doesn't appear to be any print on the shoe but there its...snake skin print. It would look so much better without.
I bought these shoes in the tan color - they looked NOTHING like the photos! In the website photos they look like a nice cognac / worn in leather. In person, they looked like faux leather and were a solid brown color. As well as looking nothing like the photo, they were incredibly painful. I couldn't even walk from my room to the living room without limping. Last issue with these shoes - the sizing. I am normally a size 38 but I ordered a 37 (a size down) and they were still too big! I had to return them. I could have maybe lived with one of these issues but these shoes were not wearable.
I am obsessed with this flat. I wear them almost everyday! I bought them in the tan but I am going to get a pair in black. They are a great price for such a cute shoe that is work and going out appropriate.
