The Highlands Foundry Heirloom Tapestry Haori Jacket

We created this one of a kind jacket by using an antique French Tapestry curtain from the early 1900s. I fell in love with the soft colors and tree + vine pattern of the tapestry. I chose to make a kimono collar style jacket with front pockets and easy relaxed fit. I carefully cut each pattern piece so the pockets line up perfectly with the overall tree pattern and used the original curtain hem for the bottom hem of the jacket and border for the sleeve hems. The jacket is fully lined with cotton plain weave cloth. This is truly a one of a kind and unique jacket.
