I waited oh so patiently for these boots to arrive. I ordered both the taupe and the black color. Although they were fairly comfortable the taupe pair came in with the soles looking like they've been worn for more than a handful of times! You can see I put a picture of both the soles of the taupe and black pair. Aside from this horrible flaw I'd say the quality of these boots are fairly good.

Tempted by a Canadian

On a road trip one day to Squamish B.C., me (from Seattle) and 2 close Canadian friends (we are older and wiser & have been FP buyers for decades) we saw this shoe in a cute boutique in taupe for $245.(I would never consider that price but Constance, adored the Taupe and tried on her size in 38 (8) which was fitting too snug. She asked me to order the 39 from the website when I returned home (Cdn's don't get the same conveniences and privileges we do for some reason via internet ). When I attempted, the 39 'is' sold out everywhere, online and at our local FP stores. However I fell in love with the teal blue sale price and look and bought them online hoping they would fit and ordered a size up from my typical size. They arrived within days of ordering. They did fit like a glove, they are a beautiful shoe but I did return them to the local store. I didn't like the "flappy snap" and buckle look once the shoe was adjusted to the max. It looked baggy to me and I like a streamline look since I have a larger foot. In comparison I own a pair of Born Booties , they are a size smaller then these were but the Borns fit me perfectly with lots of room. Not sure why the discrepancy but nevertheless, this FreePeople Bootie is the one to beat for style. Hey if the shoe fits ....I say BUY IT if you like it.

Best Short Boots Ever

These in black are just what I have been looking for. They have a looser look which i like compared to the usual tight, narrow, and pointy short-boots I usually see. Wen I first tried them on though...it almost felt like i put my foot in a narrow and pointy shoe...shorty after a few hours in them though you find comfort with the slight stretch (definitely not for the wider foot). I am 5'10" and usually am nervous about buying anything with a heel but its not that tall so i feel comfortable wearing them casually even to class. problems with the boot are they make a clunky sound when you walk because of the heel. When the boot was delivered they were a little bent up due to the packaging and its a little tough to bend them back to its original form. also its a little over priced even with the price cut of $165 but the subtle texture and details make this boot one of a kind!

Daily staple

Was lucky enough to find these in black at my local store in my size so I was able to try them on. I left the store thinking I didn't want black and would perhaps get the taupe online. two days later and I couldn't stop thinking about them! Lucky for me, they were still there, so I grabbed them immediately. These are VERY comfortable--the first time I wore them I walked around for 2 hours at the zoo with my kid and had zero discomfort. They match with just about everything and are a great closet staple, but my only complaint is they are a bit "clunky." Typically I prefer a sleeker shoe (probably because my legs re so muscular) but other than that they really are a great boot.

I first saw this boot at the free people store in Durham,Nc. They usually dont sell shoes but they do except shoe returns.. which is cool because this means you might get lucky and a shoe will be in your size(to try on). They fit like a glove.. however, since it had been a returned pair I decided to have a new pair shipped. My mom got these for me as a early Xmas gift.. I couldnt have been more ecstatic. Also I thought they were going to be here to friday.. but they came today!! I love..... this shoe.. :)

good design, poor quality

it has a good design, and fits okay but quality is so poor i dont know where to begin. 1 button was missing when it arrived, but i live overseas, so a/s was not an option. it barely closes now with one button and keeps dangling when I walk. Secondly, that buckle thingy, clearly for design, feels so worng. besides it keeps making dangling sound, it kind of hits your feet. of course it doesnt hurt bc it's relatively light, but the feeling itself sucks anyway. I just dont recommend you to buy this shoes. quality is so poor. made me re think all shoes they sell here, which is a shame bc I love this brand and there shoes so much.
