This spectacular handmade patchwork belt combines leather, metal, and gemstones. It is one of a series of two created by artist Joe B. Using pieces of antique American Southwestern jewelry and varying textures and colors of leather, Joe B. creates a wonderfully unique piece. This belt is a conversation piece to say the least! Hand-stamped silver plates adorn this one-of-a-kind belt. The buckle is a repurposed sterling silver concho with a large piece of red coral. The word concho comes from the Spanish "concha" meaning "conch" or "seashell". More recently it has come to mean round or oval discs used to decorate saddles, bridles, clothing, jewelry and for adorning or making belts.
