I was a little worried about the quality of this scarf after reading the first review. I had hoped if there were holes they would be small or add character to the scarf. Well lucky enough there wasn’t a single hole in my scarf. It is a really unique design, high quality silk, and the craftsmanship you expect from Free People. The scarves are sewn together on the sides and top to bottom so you basically have a hollow sleeve made up of about 6 different men’s scarves. The colors of mine were all similar to online and they all matched perfect. The scarf is very long, which words out nice because you have a lot of options to wrap it. I wrapped it around my neck comfortably about 3 times and then looped it below the neck with about 8-10” still hanging down. There are raw edges, which is classic FP. Love this item and got lots of compliments.

I ordered two tie-scarfs as each one is unique and I wanted to have some kind of a choice as to which one I'd keep. Good thing too: one had more of a pink & purple-wine muted red pallet and the other was more on the color side of brick-jewel reds. They are re-purposed vintage men's ties sewn together: end to end, side to side. 6 ties in total make 1 tie-scarf. Cool... but because they are salvaged ties, there are also holes all over in the silk fabric. It would have been nice to have been warned that 'natural wear and tear' would be apparent... and holes were in both scarfs. One looked like moths had a lunch buffet. I counted no less than 19 holes on that scarf... along it's multiple tie panels. (see pics for 1 example) The other scarf had around 5 holes. Those holes looked more like the person who made it had never heard of a seam ripper and literally cut the tie tags off through the silk. This one will be easier for me to mend. It's me... I get it. I don't like to buy my jeans ripped and I don't like to buy $148 holes in my scarfs. I want to put them there. I want that self made memory. These ARE cool tie-scarfs! This is a great idea on what to do with what you can find - in abundance - at a thrift store. I hope my family does not read this review. Guess what they're getting for Christmas/birthdays this year!!! When I'm done, their's won't have holes though. ;)
