Clearly, the sizing on these pants is really inconsistent. After reading the other reviews, I settled on the size 27. I'm consistently a size 26 in Levi's, so I figured these would work. They are way too small for me. I couldn't zip them over my hips at all. I have wanted these pants for so long and am so disappointed that I have to return them. I hope I'll be able to get a pair that fits at some point in time.

I tried to look up reviews for these jeans just about everywhere before biting the bullet to purchase. The consensus everywhere was that they ran small and to size up, some even said they sized up twice. I'm normally in between a 27 and 28 in free people so I thought I was being careful when ordering a 28 and 29 to insure a good fit. The 28 is gigantic in the waist, crotch and seat. These pants have some elastic/stretch so I would say your fine to order your normal size if not one size down. Sadly these will both be going back. I may try to re-order in a 27 and maybe even a 26 to try to get a better fit. For reference I'm usually a 26at UO, a 27-28 at free people and a 27 at AA, 5'10', 26.5" waist, 37.5" hips.

I was disappointed at how large these run. I am usually between a 26 and 27 so I ordered both to make sure I would get the right size and the 26 was way too big. For jeans that are supposed to hug your natural waist, these were poufy in the seat and way too baggy in the front. I wish they fit me well, I love the seams, silhouette and tie waist details. Definitely size down!!
