Cute Alternative to Cardis

  • Age: 31-35
  • Body-type: athletic
  • Location: Santa Monica

More of a cardigan (in terms of warmth) than a jacket, this is a very cute alternative. It has a lot more edge than your typical cardi and adds style to simple dresses and t-shirt and jeans ensembles. That being said, the sleeves are a little weird. They are kind of baggy and cheap and not like the rest of the jacket. The only way I can really wear it is by rolling up the sleeves. I have A LOT of Free People pieces, and this one really should be priced lower. I'll keep it because it's cute and I don't have anything like it, but as a loyal customer I do feel this piece is a bit overpriced for the quality.

Adorable layering piece, with a few considerations

  • Age: 14-20
  • Body-type: long and lean
  • Location: Virginia, United States

Firstly I must address the two qualities of this jacket that aren't translated through the photographs. It is very lightweight, and decidedly cropped. That being said, it's perfect for the function that it serves. It can be thrown over just about anything, and worn throughout the warm months into cooler weather. The sizing was relatively challenging for me, being 5'6 and 120 lbs, I have a long, lean frame, so the sleeves are rather loose and the back hem is rather high. Overall this is an adorable layering piece, and very simple to style. The versatility and style are worth the high price tag.

da bellssssss

This is certainly a nice, lightweight alternative to a cardigan, as mentioned in previous reviews. HOWEVER ! I do warn that this item runs super, super large. I am pretty much a medium across the board, but this medium had me swimming. The sleeves are definitely the most ill-fitting- extremely loose to the point where I can wear a full puffy hoodie underneath. The sleeves actually bell out at the cuffs, which is a sweet, witchy-woman look. I was hoping for something a bit more fitted in the sleeve which would retain its shape. If you are looking for a baggy sleeve and fit, this is the jacket for you ! otherwise I recommend sizing down :))

Ordered online, had I seen it in person I would not have purchased it. It's a little more of a washed out "black" than I would have liked and it's SO short on me. I'm 5'7, 130, I don't have a long torso by any means and it definitely fits slightly shorter than pictured. I ordered a S and the arms fit fine but the rest of the jacket is definitely too big. I do agree that it's a great alternative to a cardigan to just throw on as a top layer. I'll wear it but I definitely don't love it.

Pas mal..!

Got this in taupe in my usual Small - while the shoulder width is TTS and the length (short) is as pictured (nice for layering) the sleeves are a bit tight and a bit short.. haven't come across this problem in Free People tops so far. I'll keep it, in any case, and plan to break it in as summer gets closer, with sleeveless layers. Wish I had a little more room to layer, if I didn't live overseas I would probably size up to a M, but S fits fine, not worth the money to mail it back. Agree with other reviews, this is ideal for traveling, soft & comfy. For reference, I'm 5'9'' 128lbs.

Crop top jacket, not cute

  • Age: 21-25

This jacket has a unique/modern moto jacket cut and it is as lightweight as advertised. However, I did not expect it to fit like a crop top. The shoulders fit fine, but the bottom of the jacket barely hits the top of my hips. I had to return this, unfortunately.

Comfy and cute!

I bought this jacket in the taupe color in size medium. I'm 5'8, 34A, 140 lbs. I was looking for a lightweight jacket that had a soft comfortable material without looking too casual. This was it! This jacket is short and hits me at my natural waist. Looks great paired with high rise jeans. It doesn't look as good zipped up in my opinion but I wanted to get this as a cardigan alternative.

Best Cardigan ever

I know it's marketed as a jacket but how cool is this as a cardi? Was looking for an interesting cardi and accidentally stumbled upon this while browsing through the Jacket section. Had no idea it was a soft, warm material until I read the reviews, so thanks ladies! I love the versatile taupe color, and moto style jackets go w/ Everything! Seriously get it. Best alternative to all the boring cardigans out there.

Gorgeous, cool little jacket

  • Age: 36-40
  • Body-type: long and lean
  • Location: Portland, OR

I absolutely love this jacket--I got it in taupe, and it's beautiful and super cool. As another reviewer said, this is not a heavy jacket by any means; it's a great, chic alternative to a cardigan, and will be perfect as a light layer once the weather warms up. It is pretty cropped, but the back detailing is lovely, and it drapes beautifully in the front. It looks great zipped up as well. The picture is true as far as how the fit worked out for me; I'm 5'6", 115 and the xs is perfect--I would say this is true to size. Very pleased, and tempted to get the black one too!

Great lil throw on jacket

Jacket is a little "lighter" than I expected it to be but I still love it. It is a great throw on jacket in place of a boring cardigan over cute dresses. The jersey material is good for traveling and can be tossed into a weekender bag. I think I will get a lot of wear out of this--good price for the value!
