*We The Free brings us back to our down-to-earth, All-American roots, made mostly with casual cottons that have a lightly distressed and perfectly worn in feel.
Very comfortable jacket. It's warm and perfect to throw on when it's icy outside. However, it *is* pretty heavy. I ordered the black, and it doesn't look as faded as in the pictures; which is fine, I kind of like it better that way.
I tried this on & I really loved it. I tried on the xs/sm in black & it was so cute! I really loved how roomy the pockets were. But sadly I had just purchased another coat so I didn't get this. But it was warm, comfy and cute!
Better in person. Best used as a sweater, not coat
Oh my this took me by surprise. I wasn't looking for a jacket when I walked in the store, but I saw this and tried it on for the heck of it. My jaw dropped. Looks a thousand times better on u than on hanger or in pics - perfectly slouchy, tomboyish and just plain rad. And oh mylanta it is Sooooo thick and soft, like the most absorbent towel in the world. Perfect for mild winters, but in NYC this is perfect as a cardigan under your coat. So warm, so soft, beautiful cool drape. I'm 34-27-37 and the xs/s fits me like on model. Looks Fantastic zippered up halfway.
Not What I hoped
I had high hopes for this jacket, I really did. In general I love oversized tops, but this one was just blah. I wanted so much to like it but after receiving it in the mail and trying it on, it doesn't do anything for me. It looks great on the model but just sort of dumpy and boring on me. Most likely going to return it and get something with a bit more structure. This jacket has a lot of potential, and I think with a few tweaks it could be a really great piece, but on my 5'1" frame it just looks like I'm wearing my husbands jacket and doesn't look fashionable at all.
Love this Jacket!!!
I had ordered this two weeks ago in the color black though it seems to be more of a green olive color which I don't mind because it looks awesome anyways. I ordered the M/L which when I tried it on has a ridiculous amount of room which is what I need since I'm been using it as a winter coat since it's been absolutely freezing here in NY lately. It's roomy enough where I can definitely layer up if I need to and comfortable enough especially in the arms which have always been a problem for me.
Fleece be with you when you wear this!
I bought this same jacket a few years back in the black in the M/L size. It was expectedly oversized. I wore it a lot and I had no complaints. Recently I saw the new colors and I really liked the black cherry and I decided to try the smaller size. The small fits me just like on the model wearing the black cherry. I think the biggest difference between the two sizes is in the place it hits at the hip. The larger size has more room to hang low enough to hit the top of my thighs. I am thrilled with the smaller look. The bottom of the jacket hits higher up at the hip bone. The color is like an aubergine. This is a heavy jacket and warm enough for 30 to 40 degrees F. The sleeves are still long enough and there is plenty of room to wear over a sweater without having that tight restricted feeling in the shoulders and arms. If you are looking for a casual but warm versatile jacket then don't hesitate.
oversized means oversized.
I bought the black oversized moto size xs/s after reading the reviews. I wasn't surprised when I received the jacket and it wasn't really black at all. It's more of a grey/army green color depending on the lighting. It's definitely oversized like the name states. I'm 5'9.5 and a slim/regular build and the coat fits large on Me. The arms are long on Me which rarely happens with me being so tall. And the body of the jacket sags when done up around my tummy area due to the thick lining. I really like the jacket but don't know how girls shorter then 5'7 could wear this. My friend 5'6 regular build put it on and was swimming in it. Looks great with a pair of leggings.. just be aware when buying it the color is not as pictured and the size runs large. I'm not disappointed. Great coat warm and comfy and really gives you a tomboy grunge look I love. I've got quite a few compliments already. Only thing I'd change is the sagging tummy.. makes me feel kinda chunky sometimes and the bottom band when done up goes tight and rides up above my hips (probably because I'm so tall) hope this helps!
Beware the Color!
I bought the Black version of this jacket largely based on the cool 'washed black' finish that appears in the photos, that sort of frosted, distressed coloration that has dimension and edge. Well, this jacket doesn't have that washed black aspect in real life, it is just a flat (and dull, to my eyes) gray. Don't get me wrong, the STYLE is as pictured (and a cool style it is, indeed), however when something as important as color is way off, it feels deceptive. (Maybe the initial run of jackets when the photo was taken had this coloration, but now they don't, could that be?) In any case, the color was a deal break for me, as it made the jacket far more casual and less edgy than what is depicted. So, back it went...
Love the idea, way too big for me
This jacket is awesome but I'm so sad to be returning it. It's so cozy and the look is cool, but since I'm only 5'1" it just looks sloppy on me. The sleeves hang way past my hands and it just looks like I'm trying to wear my husband's jacket rather than being sweetly oversized.
I'm loving this jacket. Its so soft. The color is pretty much what you would expect when you look at the picture. Slight variations are to be expected. I am 145lbs, 5'5 and curvy. The medium/large was way too big. The xs/sm fit great and still fit big as it is meant to without being wayyy too big. Overall, the style is edgy and can be paired up with lots of cute outfits. Cozy and cute. I'm keeping mine. Glad I rolled the dice on this one.
