Round toe leather ankle boots with a stacked wooden heel, distressed finish, and zip closure on the inner side. Beautiful hand stitching on soles and subtle cross stitch detail at ankle gives these cool boots even more character. *By Bed Stu
I usually don't write reviews, but this boot was just so amazing that I felt like I should. I was super excited to receive my package and after opening the box, I sure wasn't disappointed. It's extremely well-made and is aesthetically pleasing. I got it in black and I love it because unlike the other colors, its much less distressed (which is awesome because I can wear it with almost anything). The only down side I would say is that the bottom of the boot lacks traction, so its slippery to walk on at first. I'm usually a size 6, but upon reading the other reviews, I opted for a size 7. The 7 actually fits like a 6. Overall, I love my new boots, been looking for something like this for a while. The sale price was also a plus!
Not so black..
I got these in the black colour but have to say they are much closer to blue! They have a very wide opening at the top so would look much better with jeans than with skirts or dresses. Nice but not amazing. Ps. For Aussie girls confused about sizing - size 38 is an AU 8.
I read all the reviews regarding to the sizing, I did pick up the 36 which is my size 6 in US. I want to say the issue with a lot of people, same thing with me, is the width of the boots, not the length. It is a bit narrow. But as other people said, the leather will strength as you wear them often. Luckily I don't have wide feet either. I can wear a thin sock with it. I purchased the white one as I wanted a different color besides black and brown. Love them though.
Love the distressed look of these boots! A little stiff at first, but gets comfier with wear. Recommend ordering 1/2 to 1 size up. I am usually a size 8 and ordered a 8.5 thru a different retailer. Not sure why they don't come in 1/2 sizes here but even the boot is embossed with "Size 8.5" inside. Purchased the tan color. Overall very pleased and look forward to a lot of wear out of these. Well made, good craftsmanship.
Great distressed boots!
I bought this georgeus booties in tan, the distressed is well done despite of the baseline that has some paint on it. Run small but since i am a 5, 36 euro was great and feel really comfortable and cozy in autumn season. The leather is very smooth and soft and you can wear it wit or without socks. Great bed stu boots! very pleased! I strngly recommend you to buy one size bigger than the regular american size.
Lovely boots, confused about sizing, much too big!
The quality and style of these boots is great, and the white ones i received do look like the white ones in the picture, with perhaps just a little more tan showing through the white distressing, but not enough to make them look like the tan option, as other customers have found. My problem was with the sizing: I ordered a 41, which is my normal EUR size, and these were not offered with US sizing like my other Bed Stuboots from FP . My feet were swimming in these! The Free People sticker on the box said 41, but the Bed Stu label said: USA 11 UK 9 EU 42 And inside the boots it said: Bed Stu Cobbler Series MENS" US 11 UK10 EUR 44 So, very confusing. I have the Bed Stu Manchester Boots in US 9 (according to what it says in the boots), and the 9.5 and 10 were too big for me. In the Whiskey Sunset, I clearly need what would have to be ordered as a 40 (or maybe even 39). Disappointing because none left, as I left ordering too late. Hope that is helpful, and below FYI are sizes in other boots from FP that fit me in case it helps others to compare: JC Johnny: Size US 10 JC Perspective Size US 10 JC Joe Size US 11 JC Backstage boots Size 10 Bed Stu Manchester Size US 9 Old Gringo Spirit Ranch Size US 10 The following were too small and narrow in my normal sizes: JC Hulton Boots Size EUR 41 JC James Boots Size US 10
I tried the tan boots on in a FP store, and I liked the look. Unfortunately, they run small through the width. I wear a 6 and since the only small size they had was a 6 (I think a 6.5 would have been better) I got them. Took them home and put leather conditioner on them and wore them with some thickish socks round the house for a few hours. They stretched somewhat. I then kept wearing them, like to the store and run errands with a thinner pair of socks and they stretched more. I've kept putting conditioner on the leather to soften it. They mold to your foot after wearing them for several days, and I know they will stretch more. The leather is stiff, though, so conditioner is mandatory. I like the look especially with skinny jeans and shorts.
