BEHIND THE SEAMS
Your Official FP Fall/Winter ‘25 Trend Report
By: Team FP
Home Office’s most anticipated end-of-the-year outfitting ideas.
As the seasons slowly but surely transition (for us here in Philadelphia, fall is licking the air), everyone’s anticipating what their end-of-year uniform is going to look like. And though we all (and you, included) rely on Free People to make ourselves look UNlike everyone else, there are a few cohesive threads and trends that Team FP is really excited to work into their fall and winter outfitting. Our merchandising and studio teams once again took to task and realized a beautiful, informative review of the fall and winter trends we can all look forward to in the days and weeks ahead.
Without further ado… for you, from us, here is our official Fall/Winter 2025 trend report:
Without further ado… for you, from us, here is our official Fall/Winter 2025 trend report:
TREND #1: AFTER HOURS
Our first trend, coined After Hours, looks at what our “mysterious night self” will be wearing–lux winter staples like jacquards, faux fur, velvet and shimmer, paired with more down-to-earth essentials like easy denim and knits. An alter ego, if you will.
Taking an ‘it-girl’ approach to outfitting, we’re influenced by city style, primarily with pairing slips and (fringe-y) boots. To balance the look we’re dotting in utility-infused third-piece layering, while saving LOTS of room for our massive faux fur obsession.
Despite cooler temperatures, we’re also sticking by our “skin is in” philosophy (and, a little PSA that SPF is a must for any time of year) by infusing going-out minis and slips into our night-out outfits. And always ensuring you’ve got a big slouchy bag in tow for all of your extras.

TREND #2: WINTERLIGHT
Like the name implies, our second fall/winter trend, Winterlight
, is heavy on femme winter whites (with a pastel twist). Accents of shimmer and shine play a pivotal part in making these outfits feel holiday–so special occasion dresses and tights abound in this look. Not every destination will require a traditional party look, however; so our more casual holiday outfitting leans on heavy knits with sporting details dotted throughout. And like for our Alter Egos, our Frosted selves will also be wearing a lot of faux fur.

TREND #3: GIVING TIME
And lastly, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! When it’s Giving Time
, it’s time to dress to the nines--adorned in plaids, tartan, poinsettias, and holiday motifs (bows!). Adding tights and heels when the moment calls…
This trend is not shy of celebrating in true seasonal fashion. Here we love to add in threads of a soft vintage vibe to marry traditional holiday styling with sensuality and femininity.
Giving Time is rich in color–so dare to bear your best reds, blues, and greens.
