Pro tips from our FP stylist…

By FP contributor, Riana Peladeau.

As summer – and the lure of travel – creeps ever closer, so does our want for new, fun, versatile closet adds. Like the sarong. Barely there but oh so impactful, the sarong can work as an effortless beach cover up, or worn Y2K boho style as a wrap belt over a pair of bottoms, as a night-out top or brunch date. Think of it as a bandeau, halter top, over-the-shoulder tunic all in one.

See how our FP stylist, Riana, chose to wear hers:

1st Look: The Summer Fling Pool Party

What I Wore:
How To Style The Sarong:

Keeping it functional and fun for a pool party! It is great to wear as a cover-up over a bikini. I prefer styling it full length and tied at the waist, then mixing in some accessories and a summery top to give it a more formal feel.

2nd Look: My Day At The Beach

What I Wore:
How To Style The Sarong:

Fresh take on a beach cover-up. Folding the sarong and layering it over the oversized poplin as a wrap belt.

Pro Tip: Use the Shade Finder Tote as your beach bag and toss in the Sandy Ivory Tweed Cowboy Hat.

3rd Look: Girls Night Out

What I Wore:
How To Style The Sarong:

Styling the sarong as a top! There are a few ways to go about this, but I chose a halter top with a midi skirt.

4th Look: For My Self Care Day

What I Wore:
How To Style The Sarong:

For a lounge-y errand look. It’s great to tie a sarong at the hips over shorts or leggings. Toss on the baby tee and you have yourself a cute, casual, and comfy look.

Pro Tip: The sarong is a great versatile piece to have in your closet! You can style it as a bandeau, halter top, or an over the shoulder tunic. It is great as a beach cover-up. Layering accessories, belts, or adding a poplin can get your sarong ready for anything the day brings.
