DETOUR DIARIES:
Going Places With FP Movement

From your workout to whatever’s next, you’re always going places.
When we think about movement in the age of optimization, it’s easy to become trapped by timelines. Attend a workout class, get a sweat in, go home. Restrict exercise to blocks of time and maintain a schedule that ironically, feels completely static, the antithesis of the movement that our minds and bodies crave.
But is that how true movement really works? We don’t think so.
True movement is happening all the time. It’s the joy of every moment before the sweat and every moment after. The walk to the workout, the camaraderie of the class, the detours that pop up along every step of the way.
The FP Movement Spring Bottoms Edit features our most effortless styles and unexpected silhouettes designed for wherever the day takes you. Throw-ons that feel easy, cool, and comfortable so you can move from your workout to whatever’s next and make every detour count.
We got to chat with Cait Kruetz and Ariana Simone, two fitness influencers from our Spring Bottoms Edit, about how they’re moving, where they’re going, and what they’re wearing through it all.

See Where We’re Going
FP Movement: Tell us a little bit about your workout style. How do you love to move? What makes your body feel best?
Cait Kruetz: My workout style is high energy and driven by curiosity. If I find a new way to move that excites me, I go all in. I grew up playing soccer, and now I’ve expanded into strength training, long distance running, and recently, road cycling. What makes my body feel best is variety and intensity, doing things that challenge me and keep me feeling alive.
Ariana Simone: My workout style is a mix of quick, effective strength training at home paired with a range of yoga practices—hot sculpt, vinyasa, and ashtanga. I’m really drawn to movement with gentle heat; it helps me feel more open, grounded, and connected to my body. I feel my best when I’m moving within a community—training alongside fellow teachers and friends adds a level of support and inspiration that really elevates my practice.
FPM: What does your ideal workout week look like when you’re fully on track?
CK: My ideal week includes a mix of daily movement, primarily running, paired with strength training to stay resilient and injury free. I’ll mix in cycling and the occasional yoga class with friends. Variety is key for me, it keeps things from feeling repetitive and makes showing up every day something I genuinely look forward to.
AS: Ideally, my week includes a mix of outdoor jogging when the weather allows, hot Pilates and sculpt classes, and naturally getting movement in while demoing for the classes I teach. The highlight is always making time for a community-based workout—whether that’s an event, a training, or just moving with others in a shared space.
FPM: Have your workout goals changed since you first started?
AS: Definitely. Lately, I’ve been focused on incorporating more cardio and higher heart rate training. I used to play volleyball throughout high school, and I’m hoping to reconnect with that same sense of play and energy this summer.
CK: They’ve definitely evolved. I tend to set new goals as soon as I reach one, whether that’s chasing a PR, building endurance, or learning a completely new sport. Right now, I’m especially interested in pushing into the Ironman space. For me, growth comes from constantly having something new to work toward. The fun is in the journey, not the destination!
FPM: Where are you headed post workout? What do those detours look like?
CK: Almost always to a coffee and something sweet. It’s part of the ritual, taking a moment to reset and enjoy it.
AS: Post-workout, I’m usually on the hunt for a coffee or matcha and something simple like a rice ball. I love stopping by my local café for something refreshing—lately I’ve been into herbal iced teas like sage and hibiscus when I want something light but still energizing.
FPM: What does “going places” mean to you?
AS: To me, “going places” reflects a kind of hustle and forward momentum. My schedule shifts week to week, and right now I’m building experience across different projects, which keeps things dynamic. It also means making space for connection—meeting friends after a long day, checking out a new spot, or discovering a music event.
CK: To me, it means staying in motion, physically and mentally. The more I move, the more energized and connected I feel, whether that’s through training, exploring, or spending time with people I care about.
FPM: How would you describe your post workout look?
CK: Equal parts performance and style!
AS: Post-workout is all about ease with intention—I’ll throw on a pair of bottoms that can carry the outfit beyond the studio and make it feel styled without trying too hard.
FPM: What’s your favorite FP Movement bottom right now and how are you styling it?
AS: I’ve been loving the Canyon Crop Pants. I style them with toe shoes, a simple tank, and a bandana for an effortless feel. Lately I’ve been leaning into a relaxed California-inspired look, usually layering with a hoodie to finish it off.
CK: The FP Movement Record High Pants are my current favorite. I usually style them with a fitted high waisted layer underneath, it elevates the look while still feeling easy. I especially love them in the cappuccino color :)
