Our Honest Review of Intimately FP Undies

When it comes to styling and outfit building, it’s easy to forget that the perfect pair of underwear can make or break your look. Either they’re comfortable, soft, and out of sight, out of mind; or they're digging in, riding up, and on your mind all day (not in a good way).

Everyone has individual preferences about the best cut and material for undies. Sometimes you want the support and coverage of a boyshort or hipster, while other times you may opt for a barely-there thong. When I started working at Free People, I was surprised by the wide range of Intimately styles, from sheer lacy pairs to the softest eyelet cotton underwear. So to get to the bottom of things (literally), I tested out Intimately’s most popular undies.

While all fabrications reviewed here are available in thong, bikini, and boyshort cuts, I tested out our bikini styles for continuity. I looked for wearability, comfort, and style to find the best undies for every occasion. Here are the intimate details:

More silky and sweat-resistant than cotton, I gravitated toward this style for yoga classes, hot afternoons, and travel days, when I wanted all-day comfort and a lighter-than-air feel. Carefully designed to last well through many washes, I loved the mesh trim on this style for added fun, plus the vibrant printed designs.

While some underwear is made to be invisible, this pair is made to be seen, and the floral lace is stunning peeking out under a pair of jeans or a flowy skirt.

A note on sizing: This lace on this pair makes it less stretchy than other Intimately styles, so I sized up. If you’re between sizes, I would recommend sizing up as well.
