It’s not just for the gym.
When I started working from home last March, I immediately traded in my workwear for loungewear and, even more often, workout wear. What started as an effort to inspire some physical activity post my 9-5, very quickly turned into an FP Movement obsession. Now that I’m getting back to IRL obligations, there are a few things I just can’t give up. Namely: my Happiness Runs Crops.
Although technically an active top, this crop actually transitions into my real wardrobe quite seamlessly. (And thankfully so, because I literally own it in six colors, and counting.)
Let’s take a step back so you can better understand why I can’t relegate it to my gym bag alone. The Happiness Runs Crop is sleek and compressive in a cool, seamless rib that you can wear without a bra. I repeat: you can go sans-brassiere with this top! And if that isn’t reason enough to own a rainbow’s worth of colors of the same tank -- it’s also a super flattering and stretchy high-neck style that goes with basically everything.

And, yes, I mean everything. This has become the top I wear when I don’t know what to wear, and I’ve worn it so many different ways and for so many different things.
#1 Causal Errand Runs
This is what I call my “sporty without actually doing any physical activity” look. I wear a variation of this when I’m running errands or walking my dog and don’t want to get ready-ready. I pair my crop with comfy bike shorts and casual sneakers, and add on some fun accessories for an effortless, off-duty look. It’s comfy and I can wear it all day.The fit makes me look a bit more put-together than if I went for a tee-shirt instead.
#2 Easy And Everyday
This is my favorite way to wear the Happiness Runs Crop. Teamed with a good pair of jeans, summer-ready sandals and some earrings, it’s an outfit that works in basically any situation. I can put this on in the morning and I know it will suit me anywhere and everywhere I go. Seriously… I’ve worn a version of this look to doctor’s offices and out for drinks with friends all in the same day.
#3 A Little Bit Dressed Up
Pair your crop with a skirt or some fun pants and it’s date night-ready. A workout top may not seem like the most obvious choice for a dress-up moment, butthe sleekness of this tank, especially in black or even red, makes for a sultry layering piece. With a little extra detailing, like a ruched skirt or printed bottoms, this top acts as the perfect basic tank to let the rest of your outfit stand out.
And it doesn’t stop there. I legitimately wore one of my tanks to bed last night. I’m not usually the type to buy the same thing in different colors, but it just works so well for so many things, and is so comfortable that I was reaching for it so often, it just made more sense to have multiples.
And while I do actually wear them for working out, I know I’ll continue to incorporate them into my daily wardrobe for the foreseeable future. I can definitely see myself layering them with blazers and sweaters come fall.
I think it’s pretty safe to say there’s happiness running all over me.
