Last December, I did something I’ve never done before. While writing the year-ahead horoscope, I combined 12 separate forecasts into one. Why? As I wrote at the time, “I want you to know we’re all in this together!” I warned, “A pivotal year like this one will test your mettle,” and I didn’t want any one sign to take it personally. Referring to December 2020, I explained, “Saturn and Jupiter both enter Aquarius (on the 16th and 19th, respectively), then align on the Winter Solstice. A Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn [on January 12] began the year on a serious-as-a-heart-attack note, and this Saturn-Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius closes out 2020 on a much more positive note, thank goodness! It marks the end of one long cycle and the beginning of another, and we’re sure to feel like we’re finally turning the corner. I know I haven’t made the year sound like an easy one. The fact is it’s an important one — and it can’t be both!” Now I’d like to tell you a little more about the Aquarius conjunction that will set the tone for next year — if not for the next 20 years!

Jupiter and Saturn are sort of a matched set. They’re not personal inner planets (like the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars), nor are they transpersonal outer planets (like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto). They’re sometimes referred to as social planets, due to their influence on us as a society; they color our ethics and ideals, our rules and norms. This pair meets up every couple of decades, pointing out where we have a great deal of work to do. Saturn remains in a sign for about two and a half years, while Jupiter moves on after a year. Because Jupiter is the carrot and Saturn is the stick, we often feel ambivalent about the issues they compel us to deal with. Jupiter represents the future, freedom, optimism, vision, growth, learning, aspiration. Saturn signifies the past, commitment, realism, structure, limits, determination, discipline. Saturn brings an area into focus, shows what we’ve wrought there with our past actions and tells us we have no choice but to work on this. And Jupiter chimes in: “Isn’t it great that you understand more now and you’re improving?” Jupiter lifts our head to the sky, while Saturn keeps our feet on the ground. And together, they’re turning our attention to Aquarian matters.

As we move into the Age of Aquarius, the Great Conjunction at 0º Aquarius on December 21st heralds a major shift from Earth to Air. Note: The symbol of the Water Bearer is somewhat of a misnomer — Aquarius is not a Water sign! We’ll get to the emotional healing eventually with Pisces, a Water sign, but this is not that. Aquarius is notoriously detached. You have to pull way back to see the big picture. Air is mental, so it’s time for us to use our heads and decipher the way forward as a species.

Aquarius rules humanity, altruism and philanthropy. In 2021, we’ll need to come together in solidarity, ensuring no one is left behind to simply fend for themselves. We’re struggling with loneliness, anxiety, illness, grief, unemployment, poverty and so much more. It’s crucial that we make the effort to connect as a tribe. Aquarius also governs groups, organizations, social relationships and friends — reminding us to cultivate a supportive circle of people in our lives and to look out for one another. WE MUST THINK GLOBALLY AND ACT LOCALLY.

Another Aquarian arena is science. Teetering right on the cutting edge, it’s the sign associated with both genius and insanity! It governs technology, experimentation and innovation. And hopes and wishes — already, we’re looking ahead to 2021, hoping that scientific breakthroughs will liberate us. Fittingly, liberation is also Aquarius’s domain. As is rebellion. Unfortunately, we’re likely to witness more rebellion against science in the name of liberation.

Neither Jupiter nor Aquarius is associated with patience. This planet/sign energy is nothing if not restless. People are chomping at the bit to get on with their lives, and some are revolting against Saturnian restrictions. The tension of Aquarius stems from its inherent contradictions. Somehow it manages to encompass cooperation and revolution; independence and social ties; originality and fitting in; individuality and camaraderie. Now we are challenged to tolerate people’s foibles, giving each other the freedom to be fallible humans. And at the same time, we must broaden our vision if we are to build coalitions.

Saturn in Aquarius pushes us to find common ground and establish new social conventions. What is acceptable in the New Age? This planet/sign combo implies no one is special and everyone is special. Perhaps it means no one is so exceptional that they’re entitled to jeopardize the wellbeing of others. And everyone deserves the same civil rights. Aquarius just so happens to rule socialism…let’s see how that plays out. In my view, these planetary transits are telling us SOCIAL JUSTICE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER.

Our hopes (Jupiter) and fears (Saturn) unite the collective (Aquarius) on Planet Earth (Taurus) in 2021. Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius will square off with Uranus in Taurus throughout the year, and since Uranus rules Aquarius, the other two planets will answer to him. Uranus and Aquarius are erratic and unpredictable, suggesting progress — which they also symbolize — may not be linear. It’s likely to happen in fits and starts. But it will happen. There’s no denying this new emphasis on Aquarius indicates progress. And while Jupiter is raring to go, Saturn knows it won’t be easy; in addition to Jupiter’s courage, we’ll need the test of experience. I wish I could think of more eloquent words than the ones I used a year ago, but I firmly believe they still hold true: WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!

SAGITTARIUS

November 22–December 21

You’ll feel chattier after Mercury arrives in your sign on the 1st, improving your communication skills and judgment. If you need to make a personal decision, the next few weeks (with one exception, mentioned below) are an objective period. Venus gels with Neptune on the 5th, putting you in the mood to hole up at home and enjoy peaceful R & R. Feeling introspective? Here’s a great opportunity to let go of an old love or heal a relationship wound. The sun-Neptune clash on December 9th can be a buzzkill unless you choose to slow down. You’re energized by activity, but downtime has its own appeal. If a roommate or parent bursts your bubble, don’t dwell on it. A sun-Mars celebration the next day will revive your spirits and give you courage to advance your own interests. You can make a big impression and get what you want by taking resolute action. Doing something physical and competitive like a group sport will help you burn off steam if you’re a little too fired up. Mercury spars with Neptune on December 13th, which could throw you for a loop and lead you to be misunderstood. Maybe you’re sure of your views but less in touch with your emotions. Take a mental break and tune into your underlying mood. Something simple and soothing like a cup of herbal tea might be just the antidote. On the 14th, a solar eclipse rocks Sagittarius, providing the ideal excuse to focus on yourself and set your intentions for 2021. You have what it takes to make bold moves in a fresh direction. Trust your vision and keep growing into the person you were meant to be. Venus sashays into Sag the day after that, kicking off her annual stay. Thanks to the planet of love and beauty, you’ll exude charisma and look your best through the end of the year. You’re more sociable now and can draw people to you like moths to a flame. The Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on December 21st highlights the need for measured growth in the area of thinking and communication. As a Jupiter-ruled Sag, you want to read and write a lot, get out and see people, learn as much as you can and reach a wide audience with whatever you choose to express. But Saturn reminds you to have some kind of system, balance optimism with realism and pace yourself. Mars and Pluto skirmish on the 23rd, echoing their August and October battles and giving you one last opportunity to get it right. Maybe you’ve been tempted to take a risk that threatens your security. Or you’re trying to launch a creative venture that can earn you money. Regardless, if you have a firm grasp on your values and priorities and a dash of audacity, you can triumph. Mercury and the sun sync with Uranus on December 25th and 27th, turning your attention to possessions, finances, natural talents and self-worth. One or more of those could help you invent ways to enhance your quality of life. You might decide to tweak your schedule, learn a new skill, switch jobs, redo your workspace, try a different workout or take on a new duty. If you believe in what you have to offer, you can contribute unique work now. Strong self-esteem can also persuade you to respect your health and come up with a daily routine that better reflects what’s most important to you. On the 30th, Venus gets lost in Neptune’s fog, tempting you to overindulge in comforts like food and sleep. You might wind up taking care of a family member or someone you live with out of pure compassion.

A sneak preview of 2021:

On December 16th, Saturn shows up in your cognition-communication-and-community house, where he’ll remain until March 2023, pushing you to look at how your mind works, how you express yourself and how you interact with those around you. Don’t take your thought patterns for granted; examine them to understand the ways in which they form your reality. You might cultivate your verbal skills; dedicate yourself to a writing project; work on becoming a better listener; and strive to be taken seriously as a thought leader. If you’re invested in your ideas, you’ll begin to share them with greater authority. And the more you know, the more expertise you’ll convey. So aim to keep learning! You may get discouraged at times, but you’re meant to develop your thinking, establishing a firmer foundation for brilliance. Jupiter segues into that same corner on December 19th and will be hanging there for the next year. Local travel is favored if circumstances permit, and your commute could increase. Your relations with neighbors and siblings should thrive, and you’ll be enlightened and inspired by people close to home. You’re bound to read and write more and will be processing lots of information. Take advantage of chances to meet a broader range of humanity and to spread your message to a bigger audience. Don’t limit your encounters to familiar faces or a specific type. Get out of habitual grooves and seek out new concepts and ways of communicating. Talk to anyone with a different perspective and philosophy. Speak the truth, but don’t preach. Get involved in a neighborhood-improvement effort — or spearhead one. Keep an open mind and an optimistic vision of the future! With both of these planets battling Uranus in 2021, your health or job could throw curveballs your way. And you’ll also have to contend with everyday circumstances and tasks. Don’t skip over details. Try to stay aware of your stress level, your workload and your physical wellbeing. And if you’re wound-up, seek productive outlets for nervous energy.

CAPRICORN

December 22–January 19

You can connect with people effortlessly and relate to practically anyone on December 5th when Venus flirts with laid-back Neptune. Trust your gut when vibing out another person’s energy. And don’t hesitate to show your sappy side around friends. The sun battles Neptune on the 9th, so you won’t feel very clear-headed that day. If you get into a self-defeating mindset, remember your thoughts aren’t reality. Avoid holding onto negative notions; let them go as easily as they came. A sun-Mars collab on the 10th can inspire you to heal and move on with your life. You might get busy around the house or doing work behind the scenes now. Mercury’s spat with Neptune on December 13th makes it harder to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. You could purposely mislead someone, keep secrets that add to the general confusion or unintentionally put an iffy spin on your words. Try to say what needs to be said as plainly as possible. You might also study a metaphysical or mystical subject or do some creative brainstorming. The next day, a solar eclipse at the end of your chart encourages you to begin a new spiritual practice, start a dream journal or finally put an end to something in order to make a fresh start. This lunation wants you to resist the compulsion to control, and instead, surrender to what the universe has in store for you. After Mercury zips into Capricorn on December 20th, you’ll become more eloquent, and your judgment will sharpen. If you’ve been putting off making a decision about a personal matter or having an important talk, you could feel more up to it. Then the sun blazes into Cap on December 21st, marking the Winter Solstice and the start of your birthday season! Now you’ll have more vitality, and it will feel more natural to step into the spotlight. It’s not selfish to focus on yourself when the egoistic sun is lighting up your sign. Jupiter and Saturn coalesce in your worth zone later that day, striking a balance between a liberal approach to finances and a conservative one. Jupiter can help you bring in more money, but it can also lead to overspending. Saturn favors belt-tightening austerity and a detailed budget. Look for a good blend of faith and pragmatism to strengthen your security in the year ahead. The third and last dustup of 2020 between Mars and Pluto takes place on December 23rd, and it could produce some conflict at home or in your family. By now, you probably know better than to try to control other people and are instead mastering the art of self-control. Don’t allow yourself to be provoked. Face strong feelings head-on and deal with the past if doing so will enable you to release old anger. Mercury clicks with Uranus on December 25th, offering an opportunity to glimpse positive change. You might concoct clever ideas, enjoy stimulating interactions, express what’s on your mind and play with words. In any case, you won’t be bored. Then the Capricorn sun meshes with Uranus on the 27th, again giving you permission to enjoy life on your own terms. Go beyond familiar pleasures; a safe bet won’t offer the most satisfaction. Find different ways to be you and have fun. Seek alternate paths to romance, creative gratification and personal fulfillment. Love and happiness are within your grasp, and Uranus wants you to access them in an unconventional manner. Rock the boat a little for a more memorable experience. Venus’s squabble with Neptune on the 30th may lead you to dream about an ex or see them in an unrealistic light. You’re also apt to blur boundaries and might make a misguided gesture. If you can avoid directing heartfelt feelings toward the wrong person, you’ll escape the worst of this planetary combo.

A sneak preview of 2021:

On December 16th, Saturn finally exits Capricorn and sets up shop in your worth zone. This major move persuades you to segue from redefining yourself to taking stock of your resources and clarifying your values. Now it’s time to scale back and prioritize. You’ll learn what’s most important to you and will work hard to earn what you require. Your confidence may be put to the test, compelling you to ponder what you base your self-worth on. With Saturn in the picture, there are no shortcuts to financial prosperity, so put solid plans in place. Then Jupiter follows suit on the 19th and settles down in your worth zone for a yearlong visit. You’ll transition from questions like “Who am I? What’s possible for me?” to “What do I need? How can I get it? How can I make the most of what I have?” In contrast to Saturn’s restrictive influence, Jupiter suggests you may begin to make more money and spend more as well. Plus you could acquire more belongings. Concentrate on figuring out how to maximize your talents and assets; ranking your priorities; acting in accordance with your highest values; educating yourself about finances; and getting better at providing for yourself. A year of personal growth will now lead into a year of self-assured prioritizing. Have faith in what you have going for you. Both Jupiter and Saturn will cross swords with Uranus in your joy sector during the course of 2021. This means romance, fun, creative fulfillment, personal pleasure and the pursuit of happiness could come into conflict with your quest for financial stability at times. An unplanned pregnancy might also throw you for a loop, so be extra diligent in using effective birth control 24/7 if you’re sexually active and might become pregnant — unless of course you’re trying to conceive!

AQUARIUS

January 20–February 18

A Venus-Neptune confab on December 5th coaxes you to tap into hidden talents and work for the love of what you’re doing, not just for financial gain. In the process, you can make a good impression and maybe even secure a valuable contact. But when the sun clashes with Neptune on December 9th, insecurity could rear its ugly head in a group setting. Maybe you’re not sure how you fit in — or you don’t have the confidence to stand out. And if money’s tight, socializing and teamwork could be extra challenging. Don’t allow peer pressure to affect your self-worth or core values. Luckily, the sun and Mars join forces the next day, fueling you to step up and contribute your ideas to a collaborative effort. Your powers of persuasion are formidable! Mercury and Neptune get into a muddle on the 13th, hinting that you’re conjuring up fresh aspirations but haven’t figured out how to fund them. Or perhaps you’re trying to match your talents to your new goals. Don’t gloss over the necessities. Acknowledge that you’ll probably have to fill in the blanks later. And if you’re noticing where your values and priorities diverge from those of a friend or group, don’t attempt to reconcile them. On the 14th, a solar eclipse in your network sector promotes new friendships, group affiliations and social media profiles — so reach out and connect! Look for supportive people you can learn from and peers who share a goal, ideal or interest of yours. Collaboration is the name of the game. You might join an organization, score new contacts and increase your following in the next six months. The sun sneaks into the last house of your chart on the 21st, marking the Winter Solstice and signaling that your own solar year is winding down. In this last month before your birthday season, your energy could be a little lower. It’s natural now to retreat from the world, whenever the chance arises, to reflect on the past year, release regrets and recharge your battery. Later that day, Jupiter and Saturn align in Aquarius, foreshadowing the path that you’ll be on in 2021. You’ll find the courage to try on new identities and the self-possession to determine what suits you best. If you find a happy medium between Jupiterian over-optimism and Saturnian pessimism, you’re likely to thrive, making hopeful plans that combine a glowing vision of your future with pragmatic steps to success. The last Mars-Pluto fight of 2020 occurs on December 23rd, and you’d do well to get a handle on your private feelings so destructive energy doesn’t bubble up to the surface and disrupt your interactions. Aggressive speech is one possibility. But you’ve been here before (in August and October), so you’re more prepared to deal with what’s churning inside you this time around. On December 25th, a Mercury-Uranus summit will make it easier to gain personal insight and figure out how you might liberate yourself from the past and build your way forward. When the sun clicks with your ruling planet two days later, looking back is what will help you move forward. If you’ve been stuck in a holding pattern and unable to let go of something, take advantage of this chance to delve into your psyche and learn something. Introspection could be the key to freedom. Look at your childhood and your parents from a different angle, and choose to emancipate yourself from your backstory. Venus’s tussle with Neptune on the 30th could impact squad rapport if insecurity strikes or a lack of realism about money, belongings or values confuses matters. Don’t let a desire to mesh with people cloud your judgment or warp your priorities.

A sneak preview of 2021:

On December 16th, Saturn makes his grand entrance into your sign, launching a major maturation period. The taskmaster planet is sure to put you through your paces between now and March 2023. Be ready to rise to the challenge! You’ll be called to test your strength, define yourself on your terms and assume more authority in the world. Now it’s time to delineate your identity and stand on your own so you can be taken seriously as an individual. Own who you are and make it quite clear to others. On the 19th, Jupiter follows on Saturn’s heels and will be camped out in Aquarius for the next year, doubling down on the theme of personal growth. Its last tour of your sign took place between January 2009 and January 2010, so look back to that period for hints of what lies ahead in 2021. Jupiter infuses you with confidence and optimism, inviting you to envision the possibilities of who you can be and what you can achieve. Open your mind and pursue new experiences. Strive to learn about yourself. And if it seems like you’re not on your true path, experiment and explore to discover your guiding purpose. Keep your eyes peeled for opportunities — then grab ahold of them. Your enthusiasm will be contagious, and your free spirit can inspire the people around you. In the coming year, you’re meant to bet on yourself and make good on the promise that lies within you. On and off in 2021, Jupiter and Saturn will run into trouble with your ruler, Uranus, who’s lurking in your foundation angle. On those occasions, domestic disruptions, mood swings and family changes can produce detours in your personal journey. Breaking free from childhood and leaving old patterns behind you will be an essential part of the growth process.

PISCES

February 19–March 20

When Venus in your exploration corner sidles up to your ruler, Neptune, on the 5th, you could be persuaded to sample a wider range of life’s pleasures in search of a memorable experience or a nice escape. If you fall for someone new under this influence, enjoy the feeling but give it some time before making any major leaps. The sun squares off with Neptune on the 9th, which could cause temporary burnout. You’ve been pretty focused on your professional life or a high-profile endeavor and may not be sending totally clear signals to people who can help you to move up in the world. Don’t get down on yourself if you lose momentum for a day. Lower your expectations and tackle more doable tasks. And rest if you’re tired! Fortunately, the sun gels with Mars in your worth house the day after that, encouraging you to put your talents to good use. If you hope to become self-sufficient, you can’t hide your light. Get back out there and shine! Mercury’s tiff with Neptune on December 13th suggests your planning skills won’t be altogether on point. Ambitious thinking is spurring you to plot a path to success, but fuzzy logic can cause you to get lost in illusions. There’s also a chance you’ll fumble your words when trying to spell out your goals or speak to higher-ups. If you can stay grounded but inspired, creative ideas could come out of this. On December 14th, a solar eclipse in your achievement angle makes it clear that you’re meant to climb the ladder next year, so set some new goals, embark on a fresh chapter in your career or set off in a different direction in your life. On December 21st — the Winter Solstice — Jupiter and Saturn come together for the first time in a couple of decades. This important summit takes place in the part of your chart that’s associated with Piscean matters like spirituality, retreat, intuition, empathy, release, forgiveness, unity and surrender. Now you’ll catch a glimpse of the private journey you’ll be on in 2021. Mars and Pluto duke it out for the last time this year on December 23rd. Their previous battles in August and October probably made group relations feel fraught with tension. Steer clear of competition, and instead, use everything at your disposal in an effort to generate change in the world. Overlooked assets can come in handy, helping you to right a wrong. Tread carefully, but don’t hesitate to use the tools in your toolbox for good. Mercury meshes with Uranus in your cognition-and-communication sector on the 25th, encouraging you to come out of your shell and speak freely with friends. And then the sun gets into a groove with Uranus on December 27th, boosting your networking power and social skills. Technology should work to your advantage, so if you express yourself on social media, your message will be received loud and clear. You might test a clever concept out on an audience and get valuable feedback. You can also latch onto new interests and bits of wisdom via others, so tune into the people around you. On the 30th, Venus clashes with your ruler, making it more difficult to pick up on social cues and recognize the image you’re projecting. You want to make a good impression but might be glamorizing power and success. Create your own version instead of aiming for an elusive ideal.

A sneak preview of 2021:

Saturn ducks into the last house of your chart on December 16th, where he’ll be hiding out for nearly two and a half years. He’s pushing you to finish up old business and release what no longer serves you. This is a time for coming to terms with the past and cutting your losses where necessary. As it’s the end of a cycle, you’re meant to be letting go of old patterns, mistakes, regrets, guilt, festering feelings and the ties that bind you to your backstory. Work on understanding what has been pushed down into your subconscious, because it has probably undermined you at times in your life. Next, Jupiter makes the same move on the 19th and will keep Saturn company for the next year. Now you’re supposed to take your hands off the wheel and drift a bit. You’ll need some quiet time to rest and reflect, and your psyche will deliver its wisdom through dreams, spiritual practice, psychotherapy and the like. Feelings will be freed, and you can glean inner truths. Release what doesn’t promote your growth, whether it’s an unhealthy relationship or a dead-end job. Make peace with losses and imperfections, and have compassion for yourself and others, being generous with forgiveness. Believe that we’re all connected. A spiritual mentor can guide you during this transit, or you might play this role for another person. Let your imagination and intuition wander, leading you to revelations and creative visions. Develop your ideas below the radar in preparation for future undertakings. Bonus: It’s a good year to study a metaphysical subject that intrigues you. Jupiter and Saturn will have a few disagreements next year with Uranus in your thinking-and-talking corner, pitting conscious thinking against your imagination and intuition at times. If you can make peace with not knowing everything, you stand to gain so much knowledge and wisdom during this period.

ARIES

March 21–April 19

A Venus-Neptune alliance on December 5th is apt to produce a spiritual vibe. Themes of emotional healing and soulful intimacy are front and center, and your experience will be considerably private. Closeness with another person and quiet solo reflection can both soothe you, so sneak off and dig into deep feelings. When the sun falls under Neptune’s spell on the 9th, your enthusiasm is likely to wane momentarily. You’re intent on spreading your wings, but worries like “Where do I belong? Is this the right path?” are swirling inside you. Perhaps you’re charging into the future but also feel pulled back into the past. If you’re fluctuating between blind faith and hopelessness, assume that reality lies somewhere in the middle ground. The sun’s chemistry with Mars one day later can fire you up to take a risk in the name of learning and growth. You’re not supposed to play it safe and stay in your comfort zone when these two planets hook up, especially since bold Mars is charging through Aries, amplifying your bravado. You may have trouble staying in the moment or find your enthusiasm waning when Mercury quarrels with Neptune on December 13th. Perhaps you’re harboring hopeful aspirations but also mourning lost chances. You’re searching for meaning in the future and the past and not looking at either clearly. You might benefit from time alone to daydream. But if you channel this energy productively, one bonus is your ability to spot injustice and feel boundless compassion for those less fortunate than you. On the 14th, a solar eclipse in your exploration corner pushes you to take a leap of faith and set your sights on a fresh adventure like a new course of study. Onward and upward! Then on the Winter Solstice (December 21st), Jupiter and Saturn meet up in your hopes-and-humanity sector — a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence. It’s clear now that much of your focus in 2021 will be on nurturing your social and professional bonds. Jupiter beckons you to expand Team Aries, while Saturn prompts you to clarify who is truly on it. New people are bound to come into your life next year, but you might sever some ties as well. This is a perfectly natural cycle that will ultimately strengthen your support system. Your ruler, Mars, goes at it with Pluto once again on the 23rd, after picking fights in August and October. Your drive will surge, and you can make significant progress. But you do need to navigate a bureaucracy or answer to a boss, so proceed methodically. And if you see a way to reform the system, you can generate change now. Keep putting one foot in front of the other in the direction of your future; it will make a difference in the long run. On the 25th, Mercury’s chemistry with Uranus encourages you to think about your resources — like money and innate aptitudes — in unconventional ways. Keep figuring out how to surf the unavoidable ebbs and flows of finances, assets and self-esteem. And when the sun gels with Uranus on December 27th, tap into your full range of unique talents. A surge of confidence can propel you to make a big impression on higher-ups, while clever use of your assets will also reap rewards. Try not to be attached to a specific payoff; that way, your chances of success will be multiplied. You might be surprised by what you get, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing! Venus gets into a muddle with Neptune on the 30th, suggesting wistfulness or self-doubt could dampen your enthusiasm. Or you might take a good thing too far and indulge in escapist pleasures. It’s nearly impossible to stay in the moment; just try not to compare and contrast the present with the past or future.

A sneak preview of 2021:

Once Saturn segues from your ambition angle to your hopes-and-humanity sector on December 16th for a prolonged visit, your focus shifts from current goals to future ones and from personal achievement to team-building. Between now and March 2023, the emphasis is on being accountable to others, being a responsible citizen, integrating your individuality with group interests and deciding who your tribe is. You might scale down your squad, as Saturn stresses quality over quantity. Some friendships will probably be put to the test. You’re challenged to forge new connections, join forces for a higher purpose (such as a humanitarian cause) and master the art of cooperation. Then Jupiter makes the exact same move on the 19th and settles in for a yearlong stay. Unlike Saturn, Jupiter wants you to widen the circle of people in your life and develop new dreams. As you cultivate different interests, ideals and objectives, people who share them will come into your life. Networking is bound to pay off during this transit because the contacts you make can inspire you, teach you and support you. Your faith in humankind could increase, another factor that makes this a good time to launch a philanthropic endeavor. Plus, you’ll have luck with technology and could easily expand your social-media influence. Collaborations will flourish, so there’s really no reason for you to fly solo. Both Jupiter and Saturn have skirmishes with Uranus in your worth house in 2021, suggesting that fluctuations in your finances and confidence will have an impact on your bucket list and group relations. Flexible use of resources, innovative prioritizing and resilient self-esteem will serve you well.

TAURUS

April 20–May 20

Your ruler, Venus, dances with dreamy Neptune on the 5th, dropping hints that a friendship could morph into a romance. Or you might feel a deep connection with someone in your extended circle. It could also be the beginning of a creative partnership or significant friendship. Since this planetary combo makes it easy to form bonds, and technology is also ruled by that sector, dating apps are definitely worth a try if you’re looking for love and haven’t gone that route yet. When the sun and Neptune squabble on the 9th, your relationships can feel the effects. You might be torn between friends and a lover or between one-on-one closeness and playing the field. If you’re ultra-focused on an emotional issue or passion project, spreading yourself thin will deplete the energy you’re devoting to that. Luckily, the sun forms an alliance with Mars the next day, reinforcing the idea that delving deeply into your psyche, a personal matter, a close bond or a passion project will be totally worth it. Loyalty, concentration and emotional honesty are likely to pay off. Mistrust and secrets could cause problems when Mercury struggles with Neptune on December 13th. Maybe it’s best to stay mum until this haze clears; there’s a risk of saying something that’s not intended for the general public and then having it go viral. Or you might confide something private to friends and feel misunderstood. On the 14th, a solar eclipse in your depth-and-merging house nudges you to seek an outside resource like a grant or loan, pay off debt or make a psychological shift that paves the way to satisfying intimacy. Then on December 21st, the Winter Solstice, Jupiter and Saturn line up at the peak of your chart, shining a spotlight on your ambition. For the next couple of years, you’ll be quite determined to accomplish your goals and make your mark in the world. This planetary meeting blends high aspirations with a willingness to take on responsibility. Your faith in your abilities is balanced with the knowledge that you have earned a place at the table. On December 23rd, Mars and Pluto go at it, as they did in August and October. This friction can lead you to sabotage yourself, but if you keep an eye on your ulterior motives, you can avoid working against your own interests. It’s still necessary for you to operate behind the scenes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make a difference in the world now. Mercury’s harmony with Uranus in Taurus on the 25th enables you to fit the pieces of the puzzle together and see your new life in your mind’s eye. Travel, learning and talking to a wide range of people can all be enlightening, although travel isn’t a viable option for most of us. Uranus aligns with the sun in your exploration corner on December 27th, signaling that a big variety of experiences is what will give you a sense of progress. That feeling of forward movement is very much needed now, so don’t even think about sticking to the tried and true! You’re supposed to be pushing boundaries and discovering more about the world. In doing so, you’ll discover new ways of being you and new possibilities for your future. You can’t grow within the confines of your comfort zone. The distinction between platonic and sexual could get blurred again when Venus wanders into Neptune’s fog on the 30th. Don’t put anyone on a pedestal, and protect yourself from being taken advantage of. If you’re not sure what you want or are willing to give, remind yourself not to rush into anything blind.

A sneak preview of 2021:

With Saturn ascending to your chart’s peak on December 16th, where he’ll hover for the next couple of years, you’re compelled to assume an air of greater authority. You’ll gain the respect you’ve earned and might adopt a leadership role that’s been in the works for a long time. But if you’ve cut corners or aren’t pursuing your true calling, you might experience a setback that gets you to reevaluate your path. Those of you who harbor a fear of failure or fear of success will find yourselves grappling with it. That’s because Saturn is pushing you onto center stage and challenging you to fulfill your potential. Jupiter makes the same climb on the 19th, sending your ambition skyrocketing in the coming year. You might assume a high profile and gain recognition — so embrace responsibility and get ready for your close-up! Your professional path is expanding, and you’re meant to set your sights higher. You might land a promotion or find a job that will take you far (literally or figuratively). And you could also teach or manage a team. Be careful not to come across as overbearing or superior during this period. Your confidence is booming, which can fuel your ascent and make it hard for you to tolerate answering to bosses. Seek a career mentor who can help you find your vocation if you’re still searching for it — or help you plot your path to success if you already know what you were born to do. Jupiter and Saturn both have scheduled run-ins with Uranus in Taurus next year, meaning the changes in your self-image will have an effect on your professional or public status. Be willing to adapt. Innovation can allow you to perform at your best, but rebelling against authority or a system may not go according to plan.

GEMINI

May 21–June 20

Since Venus in your efficiency corner is mingling with Neptune in your ambition angle on December 5th, you can get along famously with colleagues, higher-ups and people you cross paths with in your everyday life. You’ll gain a sense of purpose from helping others and from doing creative work. If you combine a positive work ethic with selfless devotion to a calling, you’ll find more meaning in your mission for success. On the 9th, the sun argues with Neptune, and you might wonder what direction a relationship is headed in — or see what you want to see and assume you’re on the same wavelength. Or perhaps you feel like someone isn’t supporting your goals. If it’s hard to work as a unit, prioritize charitable, creative and spiritual objectives. The next day, the sun and Mars join forces, so taking action alongside others will keep you moving forward. Don’t get too preoccupied with the game plan; jump in and embrace team spirit. Mercury’s beef with Neptune on December 13th could send a conversation in circles. You may realize you’re speaking at cross-purposes, even though your intention is to get on the same page. It’s not easy to find a common language under this influence, so don’t expect to wind up at the same destination. The day after that, a solar eclipse in your one-on-one angle alludes to the possibility of a new partnership or a new level of commitment in an existing one. It’s a great time to start thinking about how you can make your relationships more balanced and healthy over the course of the next several months. On December 21st (the Winter Solstice), Jupiter and Saturn team up in your exploration corner, merging the inspiration to take a leap of faith with the understanding that broadening your horizons will require hard work on your part. Jupiter is giving you the courage you’ll need to take risks and have unfamiliar experiences. And Saturn is teaching you to glean meaningful lessons from such experiences and to proceed with not just an intrepid spirit but a tactical strategy as well. He wants you to have a plan when you venture out on a limb! On the 23rd, Mars and Pluto cross swords for the last time in 2020, finishing their fight that occurred in August and October. Team efforts seem difficult now, but if you’re willing to face problems head-on, you could join forces with people and transform a complex situation. Don’t get hung up on who will pay the price; put your ego aside. Your ruling planet syncs with Uranus on December 25th, allowing you to probe your psyche and hit upon liberating revelations. You might confide a secret to someone you trust that day. And with the sun and Uranus in cahoots on the 27th, a lightbulb could switch on inside you, revealing what you’ve been hiding from yourself and others. Getting something out in the open takes away its power to disrupt your life. Put it under the microscope, and you’ll gain a sense of freedom. You might have a similar breakthrough in a close relationship, which is also. Sweeping stuff under the rug doesn’t bring them under our control. Only when we face things can we really get a grip on them. Venus’s tussle with Neptune on December 30th can complicate one-on-one relations. Remember that nobody’s perfect. Even someone who knows and loves you can’t be expected to read your mind!

A sneak preview of 2021:

Saturn’s arrival in your exploration corner on December 16th marks the beginning of a journey that will bring hard-earned knowledge. You might work to earn a degree, launch an entrepreneurial venture, get something published or learn what you need to know to reach your professional goals. Travel could become a bigger part of your life (fingers crossed), as this is a period when you’ll strive to broaden your horizons. Saturn wants you to give your vision of the future more structure and devote yourself to learning how the game of life is played. It’s a time for defining your personal philosophy and allowing it to guide you — without dictating how others should live! And after Jupiter shows up in the same corner on the 19th, you’ll be further inspired to spread your wings and fly high in the year ahead. Look for chances to continue your education and have growth experiences. You’re on a quest to find more meaning in life, and to do that, you need free rein to explore. It’s essential to seek out difference. Unfamiliar subjects, foreign cultures and beliefs and people from a variety of backgrounds and places will stimulate your mind. Wanderlust is sure to kick in, and courage, faith and optimism can mobilize you to live life to the fullest. Stay open to a wide array of possibilities and aim to increase your consciousness and become more of a forward-looking visionary. Use this year to discover and maximize fresh opportunities and get involved in a cause you believe in. Both Jupiter and Saturn will cross swords with Uranus throughout 2021. So unexpected events and disclosures can create plot twists in your quest to explore new territory and discover more about life. Intuitive inklings may not always jibe with conscious learning. And the past might even catch up with you in some way that compels you to change course.

CANCER

June 21–July 22

Throw yourself into an experience that takes you out of your daily reality when Venus harmonizes with Neptune on December 5th. Escapist pleasures like a romantic date get the green light. The line between you and others is blurred, allowing you to feel at one with the world. Your heart may be brimming with compassion for people whose lives aren’t closely connected with yours. A sun-Neptune showdown on the 9th can cause you to lose steam, even though you’re motivated to get tons done. In this case, an escape will lure you off-track. It’s okay to disappear for a bit, especially if you’re not sure you know what you need to in order to proceed. Fortunately, a sun-Mars coalition the next day psychs you up to get back on your grind. You’ll probably do best working by yourself, but you should also be able to work within a system if circumstances call for it. Mercury’s run-in with Neptune on December 13th indicates you may not see the forest because you’ve zoomed in on the trees. If you’re fixated on minutiae, there’s a good chance you’ll lose sight of the big picture. For instance, it’s hard to get caught up in the spirit of the season while worrying about every detail of holiday plans. Avoid saying anything too critical; your meaning could get lost in translation. On the 14th, a solar eclipse is your best excuse all year to learn a skill, start a new diet or fitness program, adopt a pet, launch a job search, initiate a positive habit and streamline your schedule. A week later, on the Winter Solstice, Jupiter and Saturn align, foreshadowing what’s in store in 2021. Is it time to overcome a fear of intimacy? Devote your full attention to a passion project? Apply for a big grant? Regardless, you’ll soon dive into the deep end! Mars and Pluto cross swords on the 23rd, as they did in August and October, intensifying your determination to achieve a goal. Be careful not to steamroll anyone. They don’t necessarily share your agenda! Instead, try lobbying for positive change; you could gain a powerful ally. The Mercury-Uranus link on December 25th suggests communication will bridge differences. You might interact with people who are radically different from you and look at the world through their eyes. Professional networking and squad brainstorming are also favored. When the sun forms the same link with Uranus on the 27th, freedom and spontaneity can boost your relationships. Give people a chance to surprise you. Let them be who they are, rather than hoping they’ll live up to specific expectations. When you’re clear on who you are, it’s easier to find others who belong in your life. This is an ideal time for philanthropy and networking, so reach out for your own purposes and for the greater good. A full moon lands in Cancer on the 29th, bringing your feelings to the surface and making you extra sensitive. You’re entitled to put yourself first in this situation! Spell out what you need from people. Thanks to the moon’s links with verbal Mercury in your interpersonal angle and insightful Uranus in your friendship house, you’ll get plenty of support and maybe even a well-timed pep talk. But if you’re ready to release someone (or something) from your life, this is 2020’s best moon for wiping the slate clean. Since Venus is out of sync with Neptune the next day, even if you’re enjoying what you’re doing, part of you still wants a break. If you long to be somewhere else but can’t travel, tell yourself the grass isn’t necessarily greener on the other side. Then indulge in the simple pleasure of a daydream or a new experience that takes you out of yourself — just as you did at the beginning of December!

A sneak preview of 2021:

After Saturn crosses into your sharing sector on the 16th, the challenge in the next couple of years is to master the art of give-and-take. Issues around trust, sexuality, power, jealousy, control, mortality and interdependence will be put under the microscope, and you’ll have to dig deep to resolve them. Casual sex won’t be as satisfying as real intimacy because Saturn wants you to learn how to merge your life with that of another person. A rocky sexual relationship could end, while a steady one is apt to grow stronger if you choose to build something with lasting value. During this transit, you’ll be called to transform something in your psyche; invest in another individual; get to the bottom of a substantial matter; work to gain the support you need; and navigate the complex inner workings of relationships. On the 19th, Jupiter makes the same segue as Saturn, prompting you to get to the truth inside you and in your closest connections over the course of the coming year. You could see the upside of sharing your life with someone and take a leap of faith by getting into a serious relationship. Mutual emotional support, pooled resources and great sex are a few of the possible perks. You could dig into a passion project or a process of emotional growth and require more private time. You might opt to seek the guidance of a therapist or another healing professional. Intensive inner work, investigations and research will all bear fruit. And you can benefit from outside resources like grants and loans — so go in search of what you need. But don’t go overboard on iffy schemes and borrowing. Uranus will be tossing a wrench into the works on and off next year. Be prepared for unreliable people or commotion within a group to divert your attention at times, and go with the flow.

LEO

July 23–August 22

A Venus-Neptune summit can put you in touch with your innermost feelings and coax you to share a sweet moment with someone close to you on December 5th. This cosmic combo is all about private love and deep connection. If you’re by yourself, it translates to self-love (that’s not a euphemism — Neptune isn’t physical!) and being in tune with your core self. Accepting and loving yourself just as you are will offer major catharsis, and this might be the perfect time to give yourself the gift of forgiveness. When the sun and Neptune get their wires crossed on the 9th, you may not get the response you’re looking for, but don’t let anyone burst your bubble. You feel like being true to yourself and doing what you want to do. Concentrating on feedback can diminish your joie de vivre. Romantic relationships could be confusing or tiring, especially if you’re not sure who someone really is or what they’re offering. Thankfully, Mars steps in to assist the sun the day after that, emboldening you to go for broke and chase after experiences that challenge you. This is your cue to do you, in the name of personal growth. Stay flexible and willing to compromise when Mercury gets into a scuffle with Neptune on December 13th. You might divulge what’s in your heart and not get the exact reply you want. Or maybe your humor will sail right over someone’s head. Again, if you can stop yourself from focusing on feedback and interpreting everything literally, you’ll have a better chance of noticing and appreciating the good vibes that come your way. Put off important relationship talks, since this transit can tempt you to see someone — or the nature of your connection with them — unrealistically. On the 14th, a solar eclipse in your fulfillment sector favors fresh romance, creativity, fun and personal passions in the months to come. You might get into a new hobby, start a love affair or launch an artistic project in the first half of 2021. A major Jupiter-Saturn summit on December 21st, the Winter Solstice, underscores the fact that your relationships will be a source of inspiration and maturation next year. Jupiter and Saturn play off each other beautifully, ensuring that you’ll have a good attitude about working on your one-to-one bonds. Mars and Pluto clash on December 23rd, a repeat of their bouts in August and October. Once again, you’re fired up to break new ground, but health issues, your workload or everyday circumstances could get in the way. If you’re pushing yourself too hard, the planets will compel you to slow down. The upside is you could very well improve your work, wellness or productivity. The third time’s the charm! Thanks to the sun and Uranus coalescing on the 27th, your determined efforts can make a big difference. You might gain more freedom to do the work you want to do or make progress toward a humanitarian goal. Whether you’re striving to change your career, your public image or the world, the fruits of your labor may surprise you. Apply yourself with enthusiasm, but don’t be totally attached to a certain approach or outcome. And since Venus will square off with Neptune on December 30th, you might hold someone to an impossibly high standard and need to let that go. Love and sex can be both beautiful and confusing; do your best to separate fantasy from reality.

A sneak preview of 2021:

After Saturn crosses your one-on-one angle on the 16th, your ties with other individuals will be tested, and weaker ones may be severed. In the next couple of years, you’re called to be accountable for your role in a relationship; lay the groundwork for equal partnerships based on mutual respect; take your commitments to others seriously; and form connections with people who require you to conduct yourself like a grownup. Your relationships may feel more trying, but the best ones will become stronger. Don’t waste time on lightweights, especially if you’re ready for commitment. People will seem like the source of your difficulty at times; that’s because the area of one-to-one relationships is showing you what you’re made of. Jupiter moves into that angle on the 19th for an entire year, emphasizing that relationships are a major source of personal growth. You’ll cross paths with a wide range of fresh faces who can open up new worlds to you. It’s a period for learning through and about your relationships. A romantic, creative or business partnership could take off, or you could meet someone who’s a better match for you than your current mate. If you’re using dating apps, cast a wider net. Jupiter is a fan of distance and difference! And look out for other opportunities to join forces; you might get a collaboration off the ground in 2021. You’ll benefit from a variety of contacts, so it’s a good time to find a teacher or mentor. Over the course of the year, Jupiter and Saturn will tussle with Uranus, who’s hovering at the peak of your chart until 2026. As a result, the whims of a boss, your desire to make a singular contribution to the world and an urge to rebel against authority could all affect your relationships at times. And the connections you’re forming can also alter your ambitions in unforeseen ways.

VIRGO

August 23–September 22

Even sensible Virgos will view the world through rose-colored glasses on December 5th, due to Venus’s chemistry with dreamy Neptune. Everything and everyone seems to possess a lovely glow now. You might flirt, express sappy sentiments, spread warmth and affection far and wide and demonstrate loving empathy for others. Savor the nice feeling of being in sync with people and soak up the love and beauty around you. Your relationships are bound to get a boost from all the good vibes. When the sun and Neptune get tangled up on the 9th, you might not have as much energy to deal with people. Maybe you’re content to hole up at home, and interacting with a particular individual will sap your strength. You’ll be extra sensitive and prone to taking things personally that day. If a loved one needs you, caring for them will be gratifying. The sun and Mars collaborate the next day, empowering you to get real with yourself about your emotions or hash out complex matters with a special someone. Whether you’re facing your own demons or making a relationship better, progress is possible. Mercury’s discord with Neptune on December 13th indicates you won’t be understood as well as you’d like. Should you rethink confiding in someone or just go with the flow if they don’t get you? Even if you’re not in sync on a literal level, anyone who’s on your emotional wavelength is likely to offer a sympathetic ear. The next day, a solar eclipse points to an imminent change in your family or your living situation. It may inspire a relocation, reno, decorating spree or new at-home self-care practice in the coming months. Then on December 21st, the Winter Solstice, Jupiter and Saturn convene in your efficiency corner, generating a positive attitude about hard work. Your productivity, health and quality of life can all improve when your sunny disposition allows you to take care of business without stressing yourself out too much. This planetary combination can fill you with hope and determination, and it gives you a hint of what’s around the corner in 2021. On the 23rd, Mars and Pluto have the same intense encounter they already had in the summer and fall. You’re driven by some form of passion to push for deeper creative fulfillment or emotional closeness. Don’t force matters if another person is involved. But do act on your convictions to foment change. This combustible combo can produce sexy sparks or a personal breakthrough. Then when Mercury and Uranus form a coalition on the 25th, your eagerness for something new and different can inspire you to voice your beliefs, have an adventure or delve into an unexplored topic. The sun and Uranus form the same coalition on December 27th, which could allow you to find out more about yourself in the process of pushing the envelope. This transit has a way of making anything seem possible, so don’t play it safe. Wandering into unfamiliar territory might somehow help you to grow your identity. Leave space on your calendar and in your mindset for the unexpected. Venus spars with Neptune on the 30th, causing a questionable individual to throw off your equilibrium. Or perhaps you’ll gloss over a reality about someone so you can remain comfortable. Your intellectual powers and communication skills will help you pinpoint what’s really going on.

A sneak preview of 2021:

Once Saturn settles into your efficiency corner for a lengthy residency on the 16th, you’ll feel a strong compulsion to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Now it’s time to improve your daily habits, physical health, skillset, job performance, time management and work ethic. You’ll be quite busy and may take on tasks that feel somewhat taxing. Saturn wants you to conserve your energy and get better at prioritizing so you can manage what’s on your plate. You’re supposed to get organized, hone your craft, cut out time wasters and enhance the quality of your everyday life. And get serious about lifestyle upgrades like eating healthy and exercising regularly! On December 19th, Jupiter follows on Saturn’s heels and prepares to camp out in that corner for the next year. Again, positive changes that will improve your wellbeing get a green light. You could crave more freedom in your job and might wind up doing something more entrepreneurial. You also might travel for work (if circumstances in 2021 permit) or assume a wider range of responsibilities. Improving your efficiency will help you to be more productive than frazzled. It’s a favorable period for implementing a lifestyle change and making informed self-care a part of your routine. Aim to be of service and to understand your purpose. Seek work that is meaningful to you. Take pride in doing what needs to be done to the best of your ability. Uranus in your exploration corner will be skirmishing with Jupiter and Saturn during 2021, which implies you’ll be yanked off your super productive track here and there. You could change your mind about what you’re doing, indulge an urge to get away from it all or decide you need a liberating mental break. In any case, you should remember that putting in the work will, in the long run, enable you to expand your horizons as you yearn to.

LIBRA

September 23–October 22

You’ll feel good about doing good when your ruling planet sidles up to Neptune on December 5th. Use your talents to do creative or spiritual work that helps people. And you can also easily make the connection between feeling good about yourself and taking good care of your body. You might choose to focus on eating a clean diet, working out in the fresh air or doing a form of exercise that calms you. The sun’s spat with Neptune on the 9th suggests that grappling with the details of making things happen can take the wind out of your sails. If you can’t figure out how to do what’s in your head, you might feel like giving up. Luckily, the sun and Mars present a unified front the very next day, paving the way for you to meet new faces, partner up and bravely resolve any differences you have. Be proactive about connecting with others so your spirits stay on an upswing. Mercury’s tiff with Neptune on December 13th means your mind is operating quickly, and you could skip right over key details. Perhaps you’re talking fast and reaching out to people, but the logistics of getting together socially are problematic. Your mindset is fairly breezy now, which could spell a lack of clarity. See if you can slow things down so you don’t get ahead of yourself. And try sticking to a practical approach; that way, you should be able to avoid glossing over reality. On the 14th, a solar eclipse reminds you that approaching life like a curious student keeps you forever young and engaged. New information, increased busyness and community involvement are favored, and you might switch up your habitual ways of thinking and communicating in the months ahead. On the 21st (the Winter Solstice), aspirational Jupiter and serious Saturn coalesce in your joy sector, generating romantic hopes, creative plans and a fertile blend of confidence and passion. This planetary pairing offers a glimpse of what’s to come in 2021, when you’ll make the pursuit of love and happiness top priority. Your excitement and determination will empower you to seek real fulfillment, and in the process, you’re bound to grow into a more well-rounded person. Mars and Pluto are at odds on December 23rd, as they were in August and October. Tense interactions could be hard to avoid because strong emotions are likely to burst out. Don’t try to push them down inside you or ignore someone else’s feelings in an effort to keep the peace. There’s a danger of projecting your own stuff onto others here, and the best strategy is to tackle it directly without overreacting. Mercury and Uranus are on the same page on December 25th, which should help you gain needed insight into your private feelings. You might confide in someone you trust that day. Then a sun-Uranus convention on the 27th coaxes you to keep paying attention to your inner world. Conducting a self-inventory can yield surprising benefits. You might take a stroll down memory lane and, as a result, have a realization that generates an emotional breakthrough. It’s also possible to get closer to someone very quickly by being open and honest. When Venus and Neptune get their signals crossed on December 30th, the logistics of socializing could become complicated, or a health or work matter might cast a cloud over your positive attitude. What’s the quick fix? A replenishing dose of nature!

A sneak preview of 2021:

Then on December 16th, Saturn settles into your joy sector for a long visit, nudging you to get down to the business of developing your creative talents and taking what you have to offer seriously. A casual affair could turn into the real deal, since Saturn is pushing you to make dating less of a game and more of a mission. Maybe you’ll fine-tune your dating-app profile or your list of must-haves and deal-breakers for prospective partners — or have the Big Talk with someone you’ve been seeing. This sector also rules procreation, so you might be on a quest to get pregnant during this transit. And with Jupiter entering that same part of your chart on the 19th, learning how to enjoy life also becomes a priority. You’ll have more opportunities to express your creativity and let your personality shine through for all to see. Believe that you have something special to offer the world! And wear your heart on your sleeve. If your love life has been lackluster, it’s likely to pick up. Spend time with people who are different from you; Jupiter swears by the principle that opposites attract. Don’t worry so much about whether you agree on everything and want all the same things. Have the courage to take risks and think big. The spirit of adventure will show you new routes to love and happiness. Since Jupiter and Uranus have beefs with Uranus in your depth-and-sharing house at various times throughout the year, changes in a close relationship and fluctuations involving outside resources can have an impact on play, romance and self-expression. You might be working on yourself, getting serious about someone or devoting time to a fun project. Then if someone pulls away, you get cold feet or money doesn’t come through, you’re forced to rethink things. Passion, trust and love are complicated by these planetary dustups. But when aren’t they complicated, right?

SCORPIO

October 23–November 21

Venus in Scorpio dances with Neptune on the 5th, convincing you to get dressed up; flirt shamelessly; pine for your crush; pour your heart out; and indulge in lots of romance, fantasy, play and creativity. You might change your appearance, fall hard for someone or lose yourself in pleasure. The sun’s dustup with Neptune on the 9th can lead to questionable money moves if you’re not being honest with yourself about how much you really need something. You might be idealizing the amount of satisfaction you’ll get from something and also viewing the object of your desire as essential to expressing your identity. But when the sun and Mars hook up the next day, you’ll feel fired up to tap into all your unique talents and assets and put your nose to the grindstone so you can achieve what you’re aiming for. With Mercury wandering into Neptune’s fog on the 13th, you may have temporary trouble accurately assessing what you have and what you need once again. Ill-advised spending is a danger, so put off major splurges for when you’re thinking more clearly. It’s easy to lose sight of your best interests now. Then on December 14th, the solar eclipse in your worth zone motivates you to craft a budget or financial goal; get a fresh stream of income going; strengthen your self-esteem; improve your relationship with money; and set new priorities based on your core values. Exactly one week later, on the Winter Solstice, Jupiter and Saturn form a coalition at the base of your chart. This pairing drops hints about what’s on the horizon in 2021, so tune into the energy in the air that day. You’ll be focused on home, family, emotional security, memories and your roots, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to explore your feelings in psychotherapy or with the help of another healing professional. Strive to understand your backstory and come to terms with it. Your living situation may change next year, hopefully for the better. On the 23rd, your co-ruling planets go at it again, as they did in the summer and fall. Guard against being too critical if you want to avoid collateral damage. Your siblings, neighbors, colleagues and other people in your daily life may suffer the consequences. The good news? You’re highly motivated to change something for the better! Your neighborhood and those in your environment may reap the rewards. Mercury gels with Uranus on December 25th, getting your mind in gear and helping you to have stimulating convos. You might meet some new faces or come up with innovative ideas by chatting one-on-one. Make a point of talking to people with an array of lifestyles, views and backgrounds. Harmony between the sun and Uranus on the 27th also makes it super easy for you to form new connections and share brainstorms that can impact others’ lives. Pair up with progressive individuals to spread an important message and promote change. You’re probably a little restless now, and reaching out to forward-thinking folks will suit your current energy. When Venus and Neptune argue on the 30th, you could overlook what’s important and once again covet things or people you’re romanticizing. Listen to your intuition, but don’t paint an overly rosy picture. Be real with yourself in depicting your heart’s desire. And trust that you’ll get what you need in the end.

A sneak preview of 2021:

On the 16th, Saturn gets settled at the base of your chart, where he’ll linger until 2023, pushing you to do some growing up. You might have to shoulder more responsibility around the house or in your family — or deal with a difficult living situation in order to make your environment more stable and comfortable. Decluttering or downsizing could take priority, or you could get your own place. Working from home or on your home are other strong possibilities. Your relationship with a parent may be tested, and you should try to resist falling into old patterns. This is an appropriate period for doing inner work, and you may decide to process memories and feelings in therapy, ultimately gaining greater self-awareness and emotional security. You’ll benefit from trying to understand your childhood, your moods and your private thoughts. Take self-care seriously; a major component of this transit is learning to parent — and in some instances, reparent — yourself. Jupiter mimics Saturn’s move on the 19th, dipping down to your foundation angle for a yearlong stay. Ideally, you’ll feel support coming from your family and your home life in 2021. Ask a parent for help if you need it; they’re likely to come through for you under this benefic planet’s influence. Your connection with your mother could get stronger, and you’d do well to surround yourself with wise women. Increase your sense of belonging by enhancing your current space or putting down fresh roots. You might build an addition, relocate or move to a bigger place. In any case, you’re meant to relish the comforts of home. Visiting faraway relatives is also favored (time will tell if that’s doable), as is spending more time with those closer by. With both Jupiter and Saturn battling Uranus in your interpersonal angle on and off in 2021, you could grapple with friction in your personal life. Maybe you long for a firm foundation, and unreliable individuals are destabilizing you. Or changes involving your home or family will drive change in an important relationship. A parent and partner might be at odds this year. Whatever you’re faced with will empower you to adapt and mature.
