We’ve got 7 FP Team members to guide you...
Earlier this month, I stepped foot on a plane. For the first time in almost 3 years.
Prior to my departure -- and even during certain legs of the trip -- I was equal parts excited and anxious. For innumerable and perhaps obvious reasons.
As I hunched over my suitcase trying to figure out just what on earth I was going to wear out in the world (yes, I’m still working at home), my mind also went to this place -- WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO STAY HEALTHY??
Maybe the more important question of the two, I made sure that I was stocked up on my vitamins/supplements. I even bought one of those superduperextralarge pill dispensers from the drugstore to keep my vitamin doses organized. A true godsend (and maybe a sign that I really am getting older?) Oil of oregano for good measure… I could go on and on.
But, thankfully, I got on that plane, got off that plane, and drove for many hours with nary a sneeze or two. So my planning paid off.
Whether it’s your first trip in a long while, or you’ve been traveling regularly, maintaining your health and energy is, well, a very personal and individual assignment. But, for any of you who are curious, here’s what a few of my FP team members abide by in their quest for feeling their best while on the go:

Even on travel days, I stick to my daily routine -- probiotic, vitamin C, and zinc supplements. PRO TIP – drink lots of water while traveling to help while eating out (and drinking) on vacation.

While traveling I typically like to eat and drink all the things and most of the time I am light on getting my fruits and veggies in. I try to be conscious of my water intake while traveling since at home I average 64 oz/day, but sometimes I fall short on that account too. So I literally bring a tube of 8 Greens with me & make sure that I drink that fizzy goodness before bedtime to help offset all the indulgences of the day.

I usually prep by doubling up on my vitamins a couple days before departure to build up my immunity. I stay away from alcohol at the airport and on the plane. (I’d rather not mess with any chance of sleep 😊) I stick with lots of water and a good meal, then I take something to help me relax once we take off. A good book and a silk mask once I am dozing usually do the trick.
Once I arrive at my destination, I try to take it easy the first day, but the excitement of being somewhere beautiful usually carries me through until bedtime. Being outdoors and moving really help my body adjust to the new time zone and environment, so even a simple walk outside can be extremely rejuvenating! I also try to go to bed early the first night so I can start fresh on day 2.

I’m currently traveling quite a bit which means cross-country flights. A few things I’ve learned:
- Breathable cotton and layer up based on your destination.
- Never check your make-up and core beauty essentials. On the craziest of travel days, these basics will make you feel like yourself.
- Always sit by the window. Use that no screen time for the first 15/last 15 minutes to look out the window and day dream a little bit.

I keep things really simple when it comes to traveling because I try my best to just sleep. But I just make sure I have tons of water and lip balm and a comfy neck pillow hahaha. (I should probably try and be a bit more healthy, right?)

It’s important to remember not to neglect yourself while traveling. This means getting a good night’s sleep before you travel, staying hydrated, and checking in with your gut! Keeping yourself hydrated will help you maintain a good energy level and help overcome jetlag. This is really one of the most important steps as it sets you up for success. Don’t forget to take time for yourself to check in and adjust your calendar to your needs to stay on track!

For me, traveling has always been stress inducing, but even more so nowadays. To alleviate some of that stress, I try to bake in as much time and be prepared as I possibly can the day of. Almost always after I travel, my face will break out (regardless of how much effort I put in to minimize the overall stress) so I always have a box of pimple patches on hand to nip early breakouts in the bud.
