The oil we’re using for everything & then some.
An oil that can do it all? Count us in!
Our copy team tested out Jao’s Goē Oil — a multi-use, plant-based oil with dozens of uses — to address our unique skin concerns, and to see if it's truly a skincare essential we can’t go without.
Firstly, the texture is incredible. It’s definitely more of a balm at first, but once you melt it down with the warmth of your fingers, it turns into the most luxurious and non-greasy butter you’ve ever felt!

Skin Concerns: Dryness, Sensitivity, Prone to Eczema
If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that my skin is ultra sensitive. I deal with periodic eczema flare-ups, hormonal acne, dry patches — you name it, my skin has it. My eczema patches are definitely a huge insecurity, and I’ve tried for years to find the perfect solution to soothe the itch while smoothing over the dryness. Enter: Jao’s Goē Oil. I’m wary of a product that over-promises because I always assume it’ll be too good to be true (especially after years of searching for solutions to my problematic skin), but the ingredients definitely piqued my interest. I gravitate towards anything with rosehip oil because of the soothing properties, and the added avocado and jojoba oils seemed like the perfect solution to my dryer areas of concern.Firstly, the texture is incredible. "
I applied it to a pesky recurring eczema patch on the side of my neck; it immediately soothed the tightness of my skin but didn’t feel as thick as a traditional “oil” would."
Now, we need to talk about the scent — it smells like a mix of coconut sunscreen with a subtle hint of bergamot. It’s so addicting that I want to bottle it as a perfume!
The morning after I applied it, the redness went down and the dry patch was smoothed over. The thing I love most about this is how versatile it is: I was able to use it to target the eczema patch, but I also applied it to the backs of my elbows, knees, and hands for a little extra nourishment. Honestly, the options are endless. I’m going to be throwing this in my bag and taking it with me everywhere!
With its long list of uses, I was immediately intrigued. So I intended to test the lengths of this product, truly using it for every function written on the (super cute) packaging. So right before I went to bed the first time I used it, it went on everything: dry patch on my face, my elbows, my freshly shaven legs, post-shave irritation, ingrowns, ends of my hair. I even gave some to my mom to put on a scar, and my boyfriend’s buzzed head (it literally has “bald” as one of its uses on the packaging!)
The results were clear: soft, supple skin, hair ends, and reduced irritation. I think the best part about it is that it’s one product that can do it all.

Skin Concerns: Combination, Dry Spots, Sensitive, Prone to Breakouts
I am notorious for having no set skin routine, because it’s hard to keep up with skin that’s unpredictable. I’m always willing to try anything and everything, to see if something could fix my magically appearing ailments. From white heads to dry spots, from razor burn to eczema, I’ll take any help I can get. So this do-everything oil got me really excited. With its long list of uses, I was immediately intrigued. I get easily overwhelmed trying to choose products to try to get some sort of routine together. It comes in a big tube, has over 28 different oils, and comes in a semi-solid form that provides an easy, mess-free experience."
Overall, 10/10 from me and super excited to have that as an all-season essential.

Skin Concerns: Dryness, Flakiness, Keratosis Pilaris, Hormonal Breakouts
My skin has always been drier than dry — on my face, my body, even my scalp, I am constantly slathering myself in lotions and moisturizers, but my skin remains parched. I suffer from keratosis pilaris — small scaly bumps of dry skin on the back of my arms and on my thighs that need to be physically and chemically exfoliated regularly to be kept at bay, which in turn, dries me out even more. I try to add back hydration afterward, but my skin soaks it up like a sponge almost immediately.I’ve always been a bit wary of oils — I tend to get hormonal breakouts and I don’t like to put anything too heavy on my skin, but Jao’s Goē Oil is formulated to be lighter than a body butter and absorbs super fast, so I figured I’d give it a go (pun intended). I was really intrigued that the oil boasts over a dozen uses — I figured if it didn’t work for my skin, I’d find use for it elsewhere. Turns out I didn’t need to worry about that.
I religiously apply a thick layer of lotion all over my body the second I step out of the shower, so I opted to swap in the oil to see how it stacks up over my typical routine. It’s a semi-solid formula that melts into the skin pretty quickly, and a little bit goes a LONG way. It spreads out easily and a quarter-sized amount covers way more than my typical 10-plus pumps of lotion. It felt silky on my skin and didn’t leave behind a residue like some oils do. After a few hours my skin still felt hydrated and it even looked more glowy. Bonus points: it has a soft floral scent!
I was really happy with the results from using the oil on my body — lasting deep hydration, soothed dry patches, and no irritation, so I decided to really test the limits and try it every way that I could:
"
I used it on some flakiness around my nose: poof, gone! I tried it as an eye makeup remover for some stubborn mascara with A+ results. I even used it in my hair in several of the ways Jao recommends: as a leave-in when I wore my hair naturally, to smooth before a blow-out, and even on my dry hair to tame frizz and flyaways."
I was pleasantly surprised with how well it took care of all of my woes — I can happily say I’ve become an oil convert. Now, I’ll be keeping Goē close-by as a quick fix for skin problems and then some.
I was so excited to try the Goē Oil out for a number of reasons. I love that it’s a multi-use formula because who doesn’t want a product that can be used for almost everything? And the combination of 28 different plant, fruit, and flower oils really piqued my interest because I definitely try to stick to products made without all the “bad” stuff. Plus, the packaging is so sleek and perfect for taking on-the-go!
The first night I took this product for a spin, I hopped into the shower, used my favorite body wash, and then immediately applied the oil all over my body after I stepped out. My first impressions were that it smelled SO good, was buttery soft, and really easy to spread around. Post-shower is generally when my skin feels the driest so I love bringing moisture back to my skin with an oil and this one didn’t disappoint. I definitely feel like a little goes a long way and my skin felt refreshed immediately after using it. I also really enjoyed the consistency of this product.

Skin Concerns: Sensitivity, Dryness, Prone to Breakouts
As someone with super dry and sensitive skin, I take both my skincare routine and my shower routine very seriously. I’m generally pretty picky about the products I use but am always down to try out a new oil, especially for my body. I regularly use body oil and it’s a post-shower essential that I absolutely can’t live without!I was so excited to try the Goē Oil out for a number of reasons. I think some oils can be a little too liquidy at times but this one is more of a solid that melts down as you rub it in between your hands, making it mess-free. Long gone are the days of worrying about your oil rubbing off onto your clothes, sheets, and furniture."
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this oil. I also used it on my hands and the ends of my hair and will be trying out all of the other uses. I can confidently say that this product is one that I can see myself re-purchasing over and over again!
