It was just about a week ago here in Philadelphia when it happened.

Fall (temps) arrived.

I suited up to take our pug out for a walk, and the blustery morning air went straight to my ears. Within seconds, my head started to fill with that unforgiving wind-blown ache, and all I could think about was – I need to get a winter hat, stat.

There are a few tried-and-true beanies I’ve held onto for the past few years… But I also like for passersby to see that I’m at least somewhat tuned in to what’s happening in the fashion world. Last year it was all things balaclava (and maybe this year, too)…so what’s on everyone’s radar this season?

We asked our FP Merchandisers to weigh in. Here are the hats they’re coveting for cooler (and downright cold) mornings ahead.

TAMMY – HARBOR MARLED RIBBED BEANIE

I love this beanie so much. It's the perfect shade of grey. It's soft and very warm, but also so versatile. You can wear it with so many different outfits, and you can roll the front to make it thicker or thinner depending on what look you're going for, and what level of warmth you want around your forehead! I'll definitely be wearing this any time I want a bit of extra cosiness.

REBECCA - AIRY RIB STRIPED BEANIE

LOVE this beanie for Fall! Keeps my ears warm and adds a color pop to any outfit. Can't wait to see how many ways I can style. 🙂

MADDI – TIMBER FUZZY KNIT TRAPPER HAT

I REFUSE to take this off of my head! Not only is it incredibly soft, the color makes me smile! I will be wearing this every time I need a boost of happy in my life!

JULES – TIDE STRIPE KNIT POM BEANIE

I love how oversized this hat is! It's so chunky and warm, so definitely perfect for your chilliest days. The pom on top is such a fun finishing touch — it's forever classic. This is a new cold weather staple for me!

LANDRY – OVER MY HEAD RIBBED BALACLAVA

Love the pop of pink in an outfit. Very optimistic and playful! Gives Copenhagen vibes while still being quite functional. Mid level warmth, love that it’s doing the double duty of a scarf and a hat!

SASHA - TIMBER FUZZY KNIT TRAPPER HAT

I've been needing a trapper! Very warm and cozy knit material (esp. for my ears). I will be wearing it on the shuttle to work every chilly morning.

HALEY – TWO TONE RECYCLED CASHMERE BALACLAVA

I live for versatility, and this balaclava provides just that. It's a go-to accessory for me because it provides warmth in an instant, without the pains of a heavy scarf or sweater. A MUST for colder weather!

CLAIRE – RECYCLED CASHMERE TRAPPER HAT

I love when the weather drops so I can start to layer up with my favorite acc -- hats!!! This season I can't wait to incorporate more color into my wardrobe with this trapper and also make my dawg match me. 🙂

HAILEE – AIRY RIB STRIPED BEANIE

Loving the navy and green stripes. Adds an element of prep for fall! It's super fuzzy and warm.. excited to wear it now and into the next season.

DANI – TAYLOR STRIPE RIBBED BALACLAVA

I dig the versatility of the balaclava. It keeps me so warm and keeps a good hair day going!! Wearing this on chilly bike rides around the city.

MISA – SIERRA PLAID SHERPA TRAPPER HAT

It looked cozy and the colors pair well with any outfit. It’s so cozy and warm yet I didn't feel too hot or stuffy in it. I'm wearing on my chilly walks home after a long day at work.

SARAH – HARBOR MARLED RIBBED BEANIE

I love this beanie so much! It's perfectly oversized but fits so well rolled or unrolled. The lilac is such a cute fall-to-winter color, and the material is super soft and warm! Will definitely be wearing this around the city.

BELLE – OVER MY HEAD RIBBED BALACLAVA

I am loving balaclavas this season. This one is the perfect addition for when I'm feeling a little chilly, but don't want a huge extra layer. So cozy!

MIA – WHISPER FAIRISLE CUFFED BEANIE

I love the versatile wear of this one — keep the hem rolled for a skull cap fit or unrolled for more relaxed beanie fit. So soft and cozy, too!

TAYLOR – HARBOR MARLED RIBBED BEANIE

My new go-to beanie for the fall in the cutest shade of green! I love how cozy and soft it feels — keeps me so warm walking around the city!

SIERRA – TIDE STRIPE KNIT POM BEANIE

This hat not only matches everything in my closet right now but my favorite Philadelphia sports teams, too. It keeps my ears warm whenever I am at a game rooting and cheering them on. So far, it's been a good luck charm! I won't be taking it off!
