THE BRALETTE ERA:

The Smallest Piece Doing the Most Work

There are very few pieces in a wardrobe that ask so little of us while giving so much in return.

Certain items quietly become the heroes of summer, and for me, the bralette is one of them. Equal parts bra and camisole, it’s the kind of effortless staple you reach for when the temperatures climb, and layering feels impossible. Light, minimal, and endlessly versatile, it captures everything I love about dressing in the heat.

There are very few pieces in a wardrobe that ask so little of us while giving so much in return. Somewhere between lingerie and ready-to-wear, the bralette quietly evolved from something hidden beneath our clothes into a piece worthy of being seen.

Perhaps that’s why the bralette has become such a staple. It slips beneath an oversized button-down on a sweltering August afternoon, peeks out from under an open-knit sweater in October, or becomes the entire top when paired with relaxed tailoring after dark. The bralette, little yet mighty, manages to pull an entire outfit together.

Like the perfect white tee or favorite pair of denim, the best bralette isn’t necessarily about a style–it’s more a sum of its parts, an essential piece of a larger outfitting puzzle.

OUR FAVORITE BRALETTE STYLES

TRIANGLE BRALETTES

One of my favorite bralette shapes is the triangle bralette–minimal, timeless, and effortlessly feminine, it's often where most of our outfitting begins. Its clean lines are perfect beneath low-cut tanks, breezy linen shirts, and barely-there summer dresses.

The Petal Party Lace Plunge Bralette steals the show in this category for sure–the dense lace and beautiful scalloped edges give this beauty endless opportunities! Wear it on its own as an outfit completer in a "made to be seen" way, layer it under button-downs, and even pair it with your favorite lounge bottoms for when you want to feel cute lounging around the house.

RACERBACK BRALETTES

Another love is the racerback bralette. It offers a little more support, and I love the fun layering you can achieve with racerback tanks. The Fiona Mesh Front-Close Racerback Bralette has an adorable lace trim that goes around the racerback, giving a delicate peek-a-boo when layered.

LONGLINE BRALETTES

And last but not least. If there’s one silhouette that has truly redefined the category, it’s the longline bralette–because it doubles beautifully as a cropped top. For those who love the idea of wearing a bralette on its own but want a little more confidence, the longline serves as the perfect middle ground. The Twist Front Bralette is a double-layered rib, so the coverage and support are great for wearing as a standalone top. I love how modern and “city cool” this style feels. Perfect for these heat waves.

HOW WE’RE STYLING BRALETTES

The bralette has remained relevant season after season because of its remarkable versatility and styling opportunities.

It's Summer's simplest uniform. When temperatures climb, the bralette becomes less of a hidden necessity and more of a styling choice.

It's Autumn's favorite layer. As the weather cools, the bralette doesn’t disappear—it simply changes roles. It softens the neckline of chunky off-the-shoulder knits, peeks from beneath oversized cardigans, and adds a feminine layer beneath relaxed tailoring. Worn under sheer tops or open-weave sweaters, it offers coverage while maintaining the effortless feeling that defines modern layering.

The bralette is proof that the best wardrobe pieces aren’t seasonal—they simply adapt.
