For the makeup minimalist, Paintlab’s Browsculpt Soap delivers maximum results...

By regular beauty/fashion contributor, Arden Andrews.

I’ve tried some brow soaps, yes.

Some arrived as a kit, in zippered plastic bags, with tins of product and toothbrush-sized tools.

Others came in mirrored compacts equipped with designer logos and instructions to mist the formula (with yet another purchase from the line) before achieving the desired look of maybe-she’s-born-with-it arches.

A new crystal-clear sculpting soap is the first, though, to deliver it all in one slick, pocket-sized step that’s easy enough to apply in the backseat of a moving car (though I won’t encourage that kind of cosmetic risk-taking).

What Even Is A Soap Brow?

Fluffy (yet sleek).
Natural (yet boosted).

The TikTok-famous soap brow look lands somewhere between what one can achieve with a familiar gel (combed and styled) and permanent laminate (straightened and sculpted). It enhances what you have without going all the way into the “too-done” territory I once heard a friend describe as brows that “look like the moustache that comes attached to a fake nose and glasses.”

Instead of the stenciled-in, drawn-on artificial arches we’ve seen in a thousand tutorials over the past few years, brow soap offers a step toward minimalist beauty.

It’s clear.
It’s mess-free.
It’s chill enough for a teenager.
It's polished enough for a board meeting.
It’s rich in glycerine, a humectant that’s hydrating rather than stripping (like many laminates and alcohol-based ingredients).

Why Does A Single-Step Formula Matter?

In the past, as I mentioned, soap brows were a bit of a process. Solid blocks of brow soap required water to activate, meaning that either a functioning sink or a spray bottle of liquid were needed to soften the formula for application.

It wasn’t necessarily an “on-the-go” option.

Now, for no-nonsense minimalists, Paintlab’s Browsculpt Soap is a one-and-done update. Its recipe is still glycerine-rich, yet features a user-friendly gel texture.
How Easy Is It, Really?

Already in a transparent, gel-like state, the Paintlabs application process is so easy you’ll wonder if it’s too easy: Opening up the box, I simply grab the tiny dual-ended spoolie brush, dip in the sculpting soap, and apply directly to bare brow hairs while brushing upward and outward. Shaping to my taste as I go, the results are feathered and angelic.
If I apply a bit too much of the formula, I can simply smooth it out with a fingertip. The hold is flexible, so there’s room to play.
And if I really want something more, I can layer powders or pencils on top of the soaped-up base to dial my gaze as needed.
That’s it. A more streamlined — and transparent — modern brow code.
