Irresistibly shapeless and swingy shift dress. This cap sleeve mini has a flirty V-neck and modern silhouette. Fully lined. *By Asilio
I was initially worried about purchasing this dress due to previous comments regarding the tight fit in the shoulders; however, I am pleasantly surprised by the way the dress fits. I am 110 lbs and 5ft 7in and the dress fits perfectly( not to short either). The material is different than the silk like material I was expecting. It is more durable and slightly rough but still very nice.
I ordered this dress in baby blue because I thought it was a cute color and it looked like a nice, comfy, day or night dress. I was so disappointed with this! The arms are tight which causes the chest area to be tight as well. I was also confused with this dress because it wasnt even FP! It was a totally different brand! I was scratching my head like, "Did I miss something??" Maybe it's a sister brand or a "guest designer"....? I didnt do too much digging to figure out the mystery because I returned it. Overall, if it wouldn't have been so tight in the arms and chest I would have kept it even though the quality didnt seem to match the price.
this dress has a cute silhouette. the material is heavy, sturdy and a bit rough to the touch, but not uncomfortable. it fits true to size, but the bust could be a tiny bit roomier. the length is fine for me (5'3"). the front does drape in a way that could make you look wider, but i find it to be a cool shapeless shift.
I was a bit nervous ordering this dress for prom due to some of the poor reviews, but I absolutely love it! I received many compliments, although it looks slightly different in person than on the model. Ordering the smallest size, there was still a bit of extra fabric in that created two folds in the front. While this was unexpected, it wasn't bad at all and even added to the dress! Second, the neckline may be lower than you realize. It looks great, but was even too low to wear a stick-on bra. Luckily the dress is well lined and the v is thin so the dress still maintains a classy and chic vibe! Finally, the fabric totally surprised me (but again, in a good way). Its texture isn't as smooth as it appears in the photo, and is quite wrinkled until you iron it. Overall, this is a beautiful dress and I highly recommend it!
So many complements
I bought this dress in the red after trying it on in the store. I usually wear a small in free people dresses, but I picked this one up in an xs. For reference I am 5'6 and 120 pounds. I recently wore this dress to a party in San Diego and received so many complements. The color is vibrant, the fit flowy, and its so easy to throw on and go. I wear mine with the easy livin slip because the dress is a little short, but overall I am really happy with my purchase!
Not for the petite
I was so excited to receive this dress in the mail. However, when I tried it on it just did not fit or fall right on me. I am 5'7, 115 lbs and ordered the extra small. I am not very broad so it just didnt fall right on me. If you are petite do not order.
Only if you're pregnant
I really, really, really wanted the black version of this dress to be my new go with everything/wear everywhere dress, but I'll be returning it for the main reason that it makes me look SUPER pregnant. You'll notice that they don't actually provide a straight on side view in the dress pictures...that's because even on the model it would be unflattering! The dress itself is pretty good quality, it has a lining and the fabric is a bit thicker and even a tad stiff, which is perhaps what is causing the problem for me. The pleat in the front of the dress doesn't really move with you, the fabric's stiffness keeps it poofed in front of you all the time. Put another way - of course the fabric moves, but it's not swishy in any way, and definitely doesn't skim your body like it looks like it's doing in that picture of the red version with the zebra coat. Other than my beef with that front pleat tho, it fits nicely. The arms are perhaps a bit tight, but I could get it on and off no problem. If I actually was pregnant, I'd probably love this dress and all it's roominess in the front, but since I'm not, back it goes. And after paying all those blasted tax and duty fees to have it shipped to Canada! For reference, I am 5'7, usually a size 12-14 in dresses, and usually a large in fp sizing.
